The chapter starts back a bit to explain how they got there.
The Marine ship Luffy and co were on rides the waves created by Whitebeard.
Aokiji freezes the wave, and the ship is left on top of it.
The den-den mushi communications kick in, and they hear about the plan to execute Ace early
Luffy tells everyone they need to work together to get out of this ice
Buggy says he feels like he can do anything if he tries.
The Buggy follower pirates: There’s nothing Captain Buggy can’t do!!
That’s when the ice breaks.
Directly below them happend to be ocean, right next to Whitebeard.
Trivia: Vice-Admiral Tsuru (つる中将) the “Great Tactician” is one of Sengoku’s direct subordinates at the base in the Sanctuary of Marie Joie. She is an elderly woman, similar in appearance to Dr. Kureha, but older-looking. Tsuru is a Marine who is well skilled in strategy. She apparently ate a Devil Fruit that allows her to literally “wash and hang out to dry” people and objects as if they were clothes.

Hey! Who has anything to say about Strawhat’s 10th crew member? I thing he should be a great fighter and be as strong as Zoro and Sanji so he can help the crew! But he should also be aDF user and be a logia type!

A logia type user?Not a single chance!He will be at least as strong and dangerous as Luffy is,not to say even stronger than him.
Furthermore,all known logia type users except ace are Luffy’s enemies.And Ace himself is member of the Whitebeard pirates.
I believe the new crewmate will be either Hancock or Margaret. Oda has hinted that Margaret is in love with Luffy, so I think she’s not out of the story yet.
