Trivia: The Moku Moku no Mi (モクモクの実), is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into smoke at will. “Mokumoku” means silent, and “moku” is an anagram of “kumo”, which means “cloud”, “moku” is also the sound billowing smoke makes. The user of this fruit is able to generate, manipulate, and become smoke. Haki (覇気, Ambition?) is a mysterious concept that only a few characters can use. It appears to be ability of sorts that channels one’s Spirit. However, its true nature has yet to be determined or stated. There are special types of Haki that only a certain group of “chosen ones” are said to possess.[1] t was first seen when Shanks used it against the Lord of the Coast to save Luffy when he was a child from the wrath of the Sea King.[2] The term “Haki” was first coined and used when Blackbeard was commenting Luffy’s bounty in Jaya,[3] but it is only during the Sabaody Archipelago arc[4] that the concept became more clear. Haki can be used to attack directly ignoring the power of a Devil Fruit such as in the case of Luffy feeling pain when attacked by Sandersonia and Marigold. Another example is when Silvers Rayleigh used his sword to block Admiral Kizaru, whose Devil Fruit power is a Logia type (which usually means that no physical attack can touch him). It also seems that those skilled at using Haki can use it to enhance their attacks, as it was mentioned that the Kuja Pirates’ arrows are imbued with Haki. That sums of the usage of Haki– But dont forget that Haki is also called a strong aura of confidence… that people with weak constitution will faint ie… Shanks appearing on Whitebeard’s ship. ****** Zoro uses Haki without realizing it … like his fierce attacks of Asura (it appears like Zoro has three bodies but its only his spirit force).

Luffy also used Haki against that flying fish Captain’s Bull, the one that sanji face rearranged. Shanks also used Haki when he boarded White Beards ship and half the crew fainted.
I hope now that they are all squared up the fighting can start. I want to see some progression!
Luffy will eventually learn haki – just like when learned how to go to Gear 2 and 3 from watching Lucci and CP9 fight earlier….
Once he does learn to fight w/ Haki– its all over for the marines…

well if u watch the anime…which i dont recomend unless you have already read the manga….He made this technique up himself. And he thought it up when he realized he had to get stronger, after his fight with Ao Kiji.
This is a technique, not a Devil Fruit ability. To put it simply, he Volcanizes his rubber body, making it very warm/hot or what not. If you take rubber and make it hot, it will bend and stretch much easier and faster than before.
As for his super speed. I believe he literally mimiced the CP9′s style of quick movement. So he saw how they move at that speed, and did the same
I wonder if anyone notices that the island that Zoro is at …. is very similar to Mihawk’s sword and cross he wears across the neck… I believe Zoro was sent to his home island.
