WB is very cool and strong. Almost too strong if you think of his strength alone then add in his devil fruit which crazy strong and not even a mythic or logia type. Which brings me to my question how freaking strong was Gold Roger?! Gold Roger was the pirate king and his second in command had no trouble at all holding off an admiral and he had no devil fruit powers! Which means that Roger was even stronger. I find it hard to believe that roger did not have a devil fruit ability.

there’s Garp who has cornered Roger also ! his strength can be comparable to WB’s i think !
for me now, there are 2 marines that i consider the strongest : Garp and Akainu, Akainu is a way too scary with Ryuusei Kazen oO

I believe it has to do something with Haki. Maybe his Haki was so great, it gave him that “power”. After all, we still dont really know much about what kind of powers Haki gives u. Remember, except hitting logia DF users, it also appears thats there’s a variation of Haki that looks like Mantra (Mantra bein Haki ?) Anyway the main idea is, I dont think that Roger had a fruit power, he propably had superb Haki that was giving him this power, along with others.
Wb is actually weaker than he was before, because of his age and sickness…… Gold Roger was BEAST!
I will have to disagree with Garp being the strongest. If Garp was the strongest he would be an admiral. I know he has cornered Gold Roger before but i dont think that makes him one of the strongest in this day and age. Akoji probably wasnt even around when Gold Roger was running amuck.
I think they got it right and Akoji, Akainu and Kizaru are the strongest.
yeah that’s what i first tought about Garp too, but you know, he’s too close to Sengoku and he’s always with him.
what i think (and i can’t prove that it’s just a tought) is that Garp had refused (being old or something like that) to be an admiral or wasn’t been able to be an admiral cause maybe admirals have to be logia users (but i’m not convinced about this)

You may be right. Garp may have just turned it down. Garp is kinda like WB i guess. Incredibly strong but a mystery why Garp/WB is not an admiral/pirate king.

This was exciting at first but i think i need to see some battles now. I wanna see characters squaring up for their individual matchup. I know we are all curious to see who Luffy is going to fight!
I am actually starting to think since the strawhats are not there and will not be showing up (my take on things) Luffy actually will not fight someone one on one. This whole arc maybe about EVERYONE else and their background.

I hope the marines get exposed for the monsters they all are. They have become so arrogant with their authority and strength. Although they may have supposedly good intentions their means of achieving it leave much to be desired. I’m certainly not saying that the pirates are innocent, but ever since seeing the marines during the Arlong Park arc they really piss me off.
Yeah pirates and marines are the same. Both of have good and bad people on their side. The people tend to see the pirates as the law in some places just depends on the island.
I just want Luffy to have good adversaries to keep us on our toes.

It’s because of good story telling that readers are drawn into the plot. I don’t know if you have ever experienced something like that with a novel, but its a big reason for why people read stories.
