止めに入るはジンベイ。いい感じに燃やされて真っ黒に。
「もとより命など捨てとる！」
「ガープ！？」
ガープを取り押さえるセンゴク。
「センゴク！ わしをおさえとけ！ そうでなければ、わしァ…サカズキを殺してしまう！」
「…バカめ！」
「エース！ 死なねえって約束しただろ！？」
エース、ルフィにもたれ掛って、
「すまねえ。ちゃんと助けて貰えなくて…」
Ｍｒ.３によって開放されたマルコ、ビスタ（だっけ？黒い帽子の奴）と赤犬に突撃。
「覇気つかいか。面倒じゃのう。火拳はもうダメじゃ。諦めろ」
マルコ、その指摘を否定できない。一瞬の油断を激しく後悔する。
船医が駆けつけるがエースは治療を拒否。
「自分の死期ぐらいわかる…。内臓を焼かれたんだ。助からねえ」
エース、回想を始める。
ゴールド・ロジャーとその血を呪う人々。
『……ロジャーの息子が最期に残す言葉なんざ「生まれて来てごめんなさい」しかねえだろ！』

Akainu tries to finish off Ace. Damn the bastard.
Jinbei cuts in between them, and is burned to crisp.
Jinbei: I’ve already thrown away my life!
Sengoku stops Garp.
Garp: You better hold me down, Sengoku!! If not… I may kill Sakazuki!!
Sengoku: you fool…!
Luffy: Ace!! You promised me you won’t die!!
Ace leans on Luffy,
Ace: Sorry, you couldn’t save me…
Marco is freed by Mr3, and Marco and Vista both attack Akainu.
Akainu: Haki users eh? Well that’s troublesome… give up on Fire-fist, he’s done with.
Marco can’t deny that claim, and regrets letting his guard down
Ace flashback, people are cursing Gold Roger and his blood.

Ace: I’m sorry about **** (sorry, some name I haven’t seen before, don’t recall). If you weren’t there, I don’t think I would have wanted to live.
Ace: Oh yeah, if you see Dadan, ask him how he’s doing. Even a guy like him… I miss him now.
Ace: I can’t raise my voice anymore… Luffy, you tell everyone.
Pops…. everyone…. and Luffy…
Luffy: !!
Ace: Thank you for loving a do-no-gooder like me, a son of a demon like me…. thank you.
Whitebeard has tears in his eyes, remembering how he met Ace.
Ace falls to the ground, and the vivre card burns out.

The chapter starts with everyone astonished.
Garp tells Sengoku he better stop me now, or I will kill Sakazuki.
Sengoku does so. Marco and Vista attacks Akainu.
Akainu says Haki users eh? This is troublesome, and attacks Ace again. Jinbei stops the attack.
flashback of Ace and Luffy. Ace says he misses even someone like Dadan now, thanks for the love he recieved.
The vivre card burns out. Luffy is seen with expression never seen before. end.
Trivia: Ace is the only “D.” character thus far to have been offered a position as a Shichibukai. However, he declined the offer while Marshall D. Teach, his former subordinate, suggested himself to join its ranks.

i find it hard to believe that some one like Ace can have his internal organs burnt as he is made of fire. Someone said that its cause he made his body physical to protect luffy. But isn’t it weird, i mean u can’t change ur body as u want once u have eaten devil’s fruit. Take example of Luffy there are many instances when he got hit by bullet and he wasn’t aware of it but as his body is made of rubber he always remain unharmed. Same goes for Ace he was hit by bullet by BB’s ARCHER(:P) but no harm. Whatever be the outer appearance once u have eaten devil fruit u cannot change ur body’s property whether u like it or not then how did his internal organs get burned out???
Maybe it’s like akainu said that their is a hierarchy among logia users in which unfortunately akainu can damage even organs despite their fire nature.
Luffy is paramecia, so once he eaten the DF his became rubber. But for Ace (and all logias btw) there are modes.

But for Ace’s case, he was in Logia mode when he was punched and because “magma burns fire” (in OP) his organs (in fire logia mode) were burnt by magma.

think of it like this luffy’s rubber was able to yield tangibility to enel so imagine if he had a sharp nails he would be able to rip through as well.
well akainu’s heat can yield tangibility and it’s already hot so ie his organs are done for.
another possibilty is that he let himself get punched through in order to protect luffy, the punch was directed at luffy so if he were to become flames the magma punch would go through automatically (like a fire punch through ice) that would have defeated the purpose and akainu could have still reached him. instead he let his nonelemental mode take the hit and then akainu wouldn’t have enough force/reach to hit luffy afterwords. although the following page does show ace as flames but whatever.

it should be called elemental/nature mode, non-elemental/base mode, and hybrid mode.
They must B in physical form. Being able to turn Ur body into its elemental form as a defense mechanism is one of the hardest things 2master as a logia user as stated by Crocodile. This transformed state can still B hurt through use of haki or possible another logia type.

Excellent from oda, by killing ace (which even i don’t like) he has left Luffy as the only man with ‘D’ to become the Pirate King (there is dragon thgh with his diff intentions) and may be the death of ace may make him even more stronger
this is a major turn in the story. I think that luffy needed something like ace dying in order to get to a different level.
let’s be honest, with his current level, luffy couldn’t stand a chance in the new world.
