He aims a punch at Aizen’s chest, but WW blocks it.
An intense battle unfolds and WW grabs his two hands. A large number of objects resembling arms sprout out of WW’s shoulders and beat on Yama continuously.
However, they are ineffective against Yama. “Are you finished?” he asks WW. He then rips off both of WW’s hands/arms.
“At least you aren’t in the form of a child. I can beat you to death without hesitation.”
WW responds with his usual moaning, but it’s with fear of Yama.
With both fists Yama pounds WW in the abdomen (technique called ‘double bone’). That’s it till next week.
Trivia : Ichigo calls Yamamoto “Gramps,” as seen in the Amagai arc, Kenpachi Zaraki calls him “Old fart,” and Kyōraku calls him “Old Man-Yama,” while all of the other captains (Ukitake and Komamura, in particular) use the honorifics.
i bet aizen was prepared for this that dick is always prepared for anything maybe he is just using wonderweiss as a distraction while he’s destroying the three pillars but then again ichigo is still there

I don’t think Wonderweiss sealed Ryūjin Jakka. He merely extinguishes the flames coming from it.
okay. the translators used the word “sealed” so I don’t know if that’s sealing forever or just that it’s turned off for a moment. but I still think it’s just a temporary “sealing.”
yup wonder sealed it , co when aizen was talking he says yama traded all he had for ryujin jaka and now he has no way to obtain that power again

First time posting, so here goes. Bleach by far has become the most epic manga by far to me, it stole my heart from naruto awhile bac. And this is what ive waiting to see for, Yama showing us why he is boss, all those other capt. depend on their swords where true capt. should be more balanced with all forms. Go Yama show them young fools why you the boss
I think Kenpachi and Yama are both skilled fighters with their fists.
Kenpachi does not believe in fist fights he believes in fights to the death and he’s never been in a fist fight so far in the manga so it’s strange how u would assume he’s a skilled fist fighter.
Well im glad that Yama finally showed us why the other capt. are so damn weak when compared to him, they are all dependant on the power within their swords where as any true capt. should be well balanced for all situations. go yama show them young fools why you the boss

But I was under the impression that there was only maybe 3 or 4 before him since he mentioned the Kings Key being passed down.
Another thing I’m curious about is what he meant by during his scolding against Ukitake and Kyouraku fight in the beginning of the Aizen rebellion, quoting “they were among the first captains he appointed in the Academy” After hearing that I was under the impression he was the only ever Commander until they mentioned the kings key, but now 30 generations of commander later.. I’m so confused now, it’s like he’s taking out and putting in elements in the anime like it never happened. Or theres more yet to be explained or created.. O-o

Does that mean there never was an Academy until now? Was everything done differently with Captain Soldier ranks? Were there even Captains in Soul Society or just really strong people under the Commander himself as a whole unit?
I think it’s valid that Yamamoto is the 30th Captain Commander. I think what Tite Kubo meant regarding Ukitake and Kyouraku was they were among the FIRST GRADUATES OF THE ACADEMY (THAT YAMAMOTO FOUNDED) TO BECOME CAPTAINS IN THE GOTEI 13. So maybe before Ukitake and Kyouraku, there was already a Gotei 13 with their respective captains but these captains did not come from the academy Yamamoto built. Makes sense, right? :)
Hmm’s right. Kyoraku and Ukitake were the first graduates in an academy he established, B4 this academy they most likely had to hone their shinigami skills on their own. That is most likely how Yamato, Unohana, and those that came B4 had to do it.

I’ve always known Yama was strong just cause he is the leader of the gotei 13. But this chapter showed that he was a lot more powerful than I expected. He’s actually one of my favs now.
Well there is a possibility that yamamoto maybe fighting in illusion right now as aizen has the sword in the hand

I’m surprised his illusion has such a grasp on people, like I understand “complete” but 99.9% of everyone elses techniques has been bustable by higher reitsu or direct influence. If the commander is indeed that much stronger, I wonder what else is yet to come, or what else Aizen is hiding..

No, Aizen stated that Shinigami powers are limited and that the only way to break that barrier is by hollowfication.
It only makes sense for him and Gin to have hollowfication powers since after all, Aizen needs all the help he can to reach the King and the Royal Squad.

All the members of Espada died a pathetic death.
WW is above the level of Espada.
Says who, all he did was surprise attack Ukitake and die. All the Espada did more damage 2the enemy than him. And the top 4 Espada died glorious deaths with the exception of Harribel, who was backstabbed.

You are downplaying WW’s strength just because he is retarded.
A skilled captain like Ukitake can’t be taken down with a surprise attack like that if the one who does the surprise attack isn’t skilled.
Also, how is Starrk’s death glorious?
He was supposed to be number 1 and he got destroyed by Kyoraku’s shikai..
As far as we know, Kyoraku and Ukitake are almost on the same level if not the same.
WW wasted Ukitake (I know he’s sick but still) and Kyoraku wasted Starrk with a shikai.
Based on that how can you say WW is not above the level of Espada?
WW just surprised attacked him, Stark could’ve done that easily. WW only got the surprise attack cuz Ukitake wasn’t focused on him and was worrying about a more threatening enemy Stark.
And as U just said Ukitake and Kyoraku R both highly skilled captains and dying at Shunsui’s hands is glorious since he was able 2pose that much of a threat to them and even pose a threat to both Rose and Love.

WW was created to seal that zanpakuto being unable 2would just make him more of a failure. And shattering anything of Toushiro’s is nothing 2B proud of.

If you actually read what I said, I thought I already addressed WW’s surprise attack on Ukitake.
It is a surprise attack but with Ukitake’s skill level, the attacker can’t just do a surprise attack if he’s not skilled.
If it was Chad who did the surprise attack on Ukitake, don’t you think Ukitake would’ve dodged it?
My point is, WW is skilled.
If he wasn’t then the surprise attacked would have failed on Ukitake.
Didn’t U read what I wrote. That surprise attack proved very little when their were many who could’ve done that. I know for sure the top 4 Espada could’ve and I think mayB even the top 7.

Did zanpakuto lost his power if badly damaged?
Yama-ji should break Aizen’s Zanpakuto then when he grabbed it,
even he couldn’t use his Ryuujin Jakka,
at least Aizen must fight with shattered Zanpakuto :D
I don’t think u can break a zanpaktou entirely, since its directly related to there soul it’s never ending i.e. like Ichigos being broken by Kenpachi, or regained it via will power fighting Kariya before he broke into SS
Aside from that I can’t imagine what Kubo will cook up for Aizens bankai, maybe completely invisible? Or something similar to Espada #8 and Tousen’s with his Sovereignty thing combined with his sword entering there body and controlling it physically instead of mentally? Or maybe something crazy like he actually enters there body and controls them directly soul and everything, that’d be a kick ass impossible to deal with bankai. Anyone have a good guess as to what they think?
