Jinbei is totally cool, and the grave scene sufficiently amount to a fine tribute towards the deceased heroes, not to mention the storyline shift being plotted out in a coherent fashion with no awkwardness. Let Oda do the job of grasping people breaths and all we have to do is just sitting down enjoying the manga.

This chapter actually succeeded in getting me teary-eyed… it was epic! I wonder though; what will the crew’s reactions be like once they find out what shit Luffy went through…?
i don’t think his crew will find out from luffy. luffy won’t say anything and will keep the sadness to himself. they may not even find out about what happened. Robin will know but i doubt the rest of the crew would know that much.
I believe that Luffy will also keep it to himself, but the crew is bound to find out since it was such a big event. If not sooner, probably later.

The purpose of the flashback (now) is for the story to evolve.
To show luffy’s pain.
To let him see that he has lost a lot, but still has something to live for. He has his friends.
As we can only speculate in Sabo being alive, it is by no means sure he will be the next or last crew member.
I am hoping Jimbei will join, but luffy is awefully late in asking. With franky that was the case as well, but considering all the other crew memebers he has, they were asked rather quickly. Except maybe for usopp. then again Robin just joined. So maybe i am wrong here and Jimbei will join, although maybe temporarily, to see luffy go through save.
But i think Jimbei needs to join for his strength, or maybe another person with the same strength. Jimbei is a Chichibukai, but does not have the ego to not join luffy. So he could be a likely candidate.
I think Luffy filled all the spots he wanted, with Brooks as the last (musician), but i may be mis quoting.
Either way with Whitebeard gone Merman Island is in too much danger for Jimbei to abandon it and go running around the New World with the SH’s. Plus he’s a little to strong to not be a captain of his own crew. IMO.

I’m just wondering, how can so many people think that Naruto and Bleach are better that One Piece? I know that in Japan for the moment, One Piece is the most popular, but wherever I go where i can find all three of them, One Piece is always at the third… I don’t get that..? Seeing as how Blackbeard’s crew is now 10 members and Luffy’s is only 8, Hancock and Jimbei would make a great and sensible asset. Take into account, that the 5 new members of Blackbeard’s crew appears to be extremely strong, Hancock could probably fight against the old woman, and Jimbei could take on the mustache dude or Basco Shot (don’t know who’s stronger.)
But then again, i’m just spit ballin here.

Btw. I don’t think that Jinbei or Hancock will become crew members. That would not fit in the story. A Shishibukai as a crew member? It would be awesome if they meet again pretty soon and Reyleigh would travel a bit with them, while teaching Ruffy. But I think the new crew member will be a weeker person than the three mentioned. Maybe its Tobi(?) (the one who stopped Lava General for a split second so that red hair had time to stop him)

I don’t think Hancock or Jimbei will join the crew. Jimbei he is to loyal I don’t think we need a 3rd character showing that Zoro and Brook show that the most while the other members are loyal to they don’t show it as much as these 2. Anyway that interview with a former villian joining crew maybe its Gin if he is somehow still alive as he said he would go to the Grandline. I am still rooting for Perona we need more girls.
Also most of the strawhats have a funny side to them Robin does to like when she wouldn’t do that embarrasing dock thing with the crew against Oz. Perona has a funny side as we can tell espicially in the Zoro cover stories.

Alvida, Buggy, Arlong, Bon Clay*, Crocodile, Enel, Moria*, and Perona.

I forgot to add that the enemy of the strawhats who is joining well join them before they depart to the New World. What business does Crocodile have being at the location where the crew is reuniting? I could had sworn he was with the Whitebeard pirates when Akuina was trying to get Luffy and Jimbei and just because he saves them doesn’t mean he is going to join he did it because he didn’t want the Marines to get there way seriously they got me so mad when they thought Whitebeard was gone though he was the reason so many islands were being protected so I am happy Blackbeard got Whitebeard’s devil fruit because the Marines got screwed.
Crocodile isn’t the type to take orders espicially if someone like Nami who does the orders the most would tell him to do something only reason why Crocodile obeyed orders this time was because of Iva knowing his past. Hachi I like him but he said he was done being a pirate Shaki was in favor of his decision we don’t need 3 swordsman. I noticed this about Brook is that he has a personality combination similar to Zoro and Sanji has honor, loyalty, devotion, acts like a gentleman and acts like Sanji but he does the panties thing. Perona has a personality combination similar to Nami and Usopp is bossy, demanding, acts like a joker at times(when she said she could take out Usopp’s heart LOL) and runs away when scared.
I guess Coby will be promoted to a higher position after what he did in the war….

Possible canidates: Crocidile, Hachi, Hancock, Perona, Buggy, Enel, Moria, Arlong, Bon Clay, Alvida, Mr.3, even cody or smoker.
Crocidle – nope Hachi – nope Hancock – nope Enel – nope

Reasoning for these nopes: Too Obvious(Bon Clay), Too Strong(Hancock, Moria, Crocidle, Enel), Crazy(alvida, arlong, cody/smoker) Too weak(Hachi)
Buggy – good chance but i hope not, i find him annoying.
Mr.3 – i find weak but he has his strengths and is not as boring as hachi.
Perona – crazy power, different, different type of character, currently with a strawhat but we dont have background info on her like we do the other strawhats.

Buggy and most likely Mr. 3 are with eachother with Shanks for protection and that means they well not meet up at Sabaody Archipelago with Luffy and his crew only choice is Perona she has no meaning in her life Moria is dead and she doesn’t like Abasalom and Hogback only reason she stayed with Moria was for fun as it was stated and we don’t know her past but we do know that she was with Moria when he asked Hogback to join him in a flashback. Perona has a similar pattern to how the girls. The girls and there former bosses Nami – Arlong, Robin – Crocodile and Perona – Moria and they all stayed with them for there owns benefits Nami to get enough money for Coco village, Robin to find the Ponegliff and Perona for fun though we still don’t know what that FUN is. There past are revealed in there times of sadness so Perona just like that might reveal her past once she finds out Moria is dead because she won’t know what to do with her life now and she had her personal jolly roger on Nami’s shirt when battling Oz so she will be of great importance in the story. To those who know about the foreshadowing when Nami went to buy clothes at Rougetown she had dresses that were worn by Robin and Hancock this doesn’t mean Hancock well join it might just be to show us that these 2 well have great importance in the story Robin to find the ponegliff which could be linked to One Piece and Hancock to teach Luffy haki before he leaves and end up becoming his pirate queen in the end she is the Chichi of the show. Oda doesn’t over do love his story is more towards boys than girls so Hancock well not join.
