Why are there two guys with kuwabara hair up there?

Oh. Btw i caught up on terraformars a few days ago. I’ve never seen so many people with boobs die in a manga before.

from what I saw last chapter, I’ve been thinking, and I think teppei is the one who gave zebra his scar on his cheek. since zebra does have some beef with teppie for some reason.

    • Ashura - July 15, 2013 at 2:17 am #

Idk about the zebura’s scar, but he’s definitely has beef with teppei cus he captured zebura with yosaku’s help.

      • seekmsn - July 15, 2013 at 2:48 am #

either cause of the scar or because of being captured…or maybe…cause he was being cocky!!!

      • Nacho :D - July 18, 2013 at 4:25 am #

Zebra get his scar because he wanted to put more food in his mouth every time and because his mouth the way it was was a problem for his powers :)

    • dyll47 - July 15, 2013 at 4:16 am #

I don’t think it’s Teppei who gave Zebra that scar. It looks an old scar. And Toriko and the other HKs doesn’t seem surprised when they first saw Zebra after going out of prison.
The last time they saw Zebra was before he got into prison. So if it’s Teppei’s doing, they should have known him without the scar. And seeing someone that strong to suddenly have a scar that obvious should have atleast surprised the HKs.

    • MDN - July 15, 2013 at 11:42 am #

Zebra go that scar from his own power or at least that is what has been hinted at.

  3. dyll47 - July 15, 2013 at 4:21 am #

I hate how US animation companies make Zebra’s scar look like a wiped black lipstick.
The should just stick to cartoons and get their hands off animes which they obviously couldn’t handle.

    • Dwarf - July 15, 2013 at 11:22 am #

      Any pics to show it?

      • dyll47 - July 16, 2013 at 12:57 am #

Just look at the picture above.

  4. Leptor - July 15, 2013 at 4:58 pm #

    @ Komori.

If anything I was a little disappointed with Buranchi’s match. I was hoping for a more exciting opponent for him.

The traitors in IGO was a little surprising, but I wouldn’t say it was “shocking”. To me, shocking would be something that I didn’t even think of as being a possibility beforehand.

As for your other post, combining a fighting series with one that likes food isn’t really anything risky when it comes to a large portion of the Manga/Anime community. An argument could be made about that for adults and old teens, but the young fans will eat it up…no pun intended.

Btw, about Bleach vs. Toriko power level consistency…I’d say Toriko’s is slightly more consistent when it comes to “Who’s stronger than who”, but I’d say Bleach’s attack scale and how they compare to those above them in power (or below) is more more consistent (remarkably so actually). So overall I’d say they’re about even, if not slightly Bleach in that category.

    • dyll47 - July 16, 2013 at 3:34 am #

I think Elg was a good opponent for Buranchi’s debut fight.

      • Leptor - July 16, 2013 at 3:56 am #

Given how strong chefs that are ranked slightly higher than him are, it was a bit of a let down to me that he was only strong enough to fight Elg.

I was expecting him going in to be AT LEAST around as strong as Zebra.

      • dyll47 - July 16, 2013 at 4:13 am #

It’s just his debut fight. I’m sure there’s a lot more to come that would showcase his skills.

And his ranking is not about how strong he is but about how good his cooking skills are. That’s where I’m disappointed at. He is considered a genius but he easily gave up after seeing that the ingredients that were left for them were the low quality ones.

      • Leptor - July 16, 2013 at 4:33 am #

Yeah but we see the tournament plays a big part in the rankings, and that to win the tournament generally involves the chefs’ strength.

Plus there’s just a pattern. For the most part, their ranks correlate with their strength.

Plus there was so much hype surrounding him.

      • Komori Ningen - July 16, 2013 at 11:30 am #

        I love Buranchi’s power
And I really liked the fight against Elgo
It was short but badass as f*ck
Still now I can’t see how someone else could have dealt with Elgo like Buranchi did

  5. dyll47 - July 16, 2013 at 3:53 am #

Any news about the Toriko movie?

  6. dyll47 - July 16, 2013 at 4:27 pm #

I just watched the latest episode and saw characters from the Toriko movie.

And it was also shown there that other HKs also learned food honor. But from whom, it wasn’t revealed.

  7. dyll47 - July 16, 2013 at 4:29 pm #

I also think Teppei knows food honor as well because he said whike talking to Setsuno that “they (Komatsu and Toriko)FINALLY learned food honor”

    • Leptor - July 16, 2013 at 7:47 pm #

Teppei’s likely on a higher level than the HKs in general, so he’s probably known food honor for quite some time.

He wasn’t exactly a war veteran at the beginning of the series, but he seemed to have a decent amount of experience with the HKs coming off as rookies so to speak.

      • dyll47 - July 17, 2013 at 1:42 am #

I agree with that. I think he’s just a few levels to be in the ranks of 0th biotope members.

      • dyll47 - July 17, 2013 at 1:45 am #

        A few levels away*

I hate how this spell checker works in my tab. You delete one letter and it either deletes the whole word or changes the other letters in it.

  13. dyll47 - July 17, 2013 at 2:58 pm #

Have read the top 3 mangas and only saw raw pics of Toriko and I can say that Toriko tops again this week.

Jirou’s arrival is just too epic. If Sunny was there, he’d be jealous again.

  14. Thomas - July 17, 2013 at 6:31 pm #

I think that it is very clear that Joa is Alfaro— look at the nose and the eyes in the raw–they seem practically identical. They both have a very similar body structure (large, wide shoulders) and the big, flowy coat would be able to hide the other hands perfectly. I think that the reason that in the Gourmet Casino arc we could not see all of his arms could be because his jester outfit (something that was also a little puffy) could conceal the others as well.

Also it would lend a lot more understanding to why he didn’t engage Setsuno in Ice Hell and it would explain how he knows about Setsuno’s former powers and abilities to the extent of which she had them when she was young.

    • Ashura - July 17, 2013 at 11:38 pm #

The way I remember it Alfaro was about to engage in battle with, but she let out a burst of her energy that frightened him. The recent chapters, it’s the other way around. Setsuno is scared of joa.

I doubt that Alfaro is joa

    • Leptor - July 17, 2013 at 11:53 pm #

There are multiple people who look like Alfaro in Toriko.

I really doubt Joa is Alfaro though, as Alfaro feared Setsuno. Joa’s likely at least as strong as, if not stronger than Setsuno (or at least old version Setsuno).

So Joa is trying to imply that he/she is Frohze.
This could be just a Tobito trying to be Madara trick but I don’t think the author would do such thing.

It could be true that Joa is Frohze. But we’ve seen the nose of Joa and it’s far from what Frohze looks like. The only explanation I could think of is the over use of dark technique could have altered her looks. It’s a dark technique so there is a price that one has to pay. And that is to turn you into a monster.
