I think Toshiro’s still alive…. I think due to the fact that he was near death made him easier to transform than other regular shinigamis.

Kubo can still keep him alive while “killing him” lol.

Say, maybe when dealing with regular shinigami Giselle just needs to hit them with her blood, but on shinigami with higher more spiritual pressure (captain level), maybe she needs to literally inject her blood into them to turn them into indestructible zombies.

If anything, whatever happens to Toshiro, Mayuri is there and im sure he can somehow find a way to bring him back if he is truly dead, lol.

Remember guys…. its not a coincidence. Kubo has this planned.

All the captains are going to die……again

    • Samuelle - August 3, 2014 at 8:05 pm #

That makes sense since ikkaku was hit with her blood and he’s not turned into a zombie

      • MDre - August 3, 2014 at 8:44 pm #

Ikkaku wasn’t hit by Giselle’s blood, he was hit by a zombie shinigami’s blood. Giselle’s blood only needs to make skin contact with a shinigami, hollow, vizard or arrancar in order for the ability to work… why? because Shinigami, hollows, and there hybrids are already dead. Quincy’s are living beings, thus they must die and become apart of the dead for the ability to activate.

      • Samuelle - August 3, 2014 at 8:52 pm #

My bad I must have read a bad translation

      • trav - August 6, 2014 at 6:13 am #

Also everyone is taking the word zombie too literal. Basically all it appears to be is some form of blood magic mind control. We know this from Bambi still being able to speak and act slightly on their own, the stronger the person is the less control Gigi will have on them. This is how He was able to kill all the Shinigami by his own blood, he made them kill themselves, then controlled the corpses.

    • Hi Shin Unit - August 3, 2014 at 8:05 pm #

I think Mayuri will find a way to reverse the effects of the zombification, so that he can at least save Toshiro. I just can’t see Kubo killing off Toshiro.

This is the reason why I will never pick up one piece, the majority of the fans are intolerant pricks (cactuses) I’ve been fortunate to meet some fans on here that tolerate the fact there ARE other mangas out there and that everyone is entitled to read what they like

@Sam I get what you mean but don’t let OP fans cloud your judgement on whether you want to read or like a manga. Most people on the internet are pricks anyways, this forum is pretty cool considering what other foruns are like.

    • NateParedes44 - August 4, 2014 at 5:05 pm #

I got into Shonen jump back in 2005.
Way back before they started serializing Bleach.
I instantly got into Naruto, Yugioh: Millenium world, and Yuyu hakusho manga. Even from the start, before even knowing how popular One piece was back in japan, I never really liked it that much.

However, when shonen jump started publishing bleach for the first time, I instantly got into it.

However, that was only after I read the soul society arc. Had I not known that, I would of never picked it up because the art at the beginning kind of sucked (super common in every manga at the beginning), lol

I’ve always been attracted about art style more than story because…. its manga: i.e its DRAWINGS! If I really wanted a super awesome story I would read it in book form, lol.

Now for the criticism. All 3 top mangaka have gone through a decrease in art style.

Naruto (imo) had the best art during the Sasuke Retrieval Arc with the 5 sound ninja. It went down by a lot after the time skip.

One Piece (imo) had better art during… well not art, since its quality was never really that amazing. BUT Oda had in the past some amazing perspective shots that he just doesnt seem to do anymore. (example: Luffy swinging in palm tree towards Elbaf giant Groggy way back)

As for Bleach, it had the best art during the Fake Karakura town arc. If you read the current manga volumes, it looks kind of “pencily”. The quality of the drawings are very different when compared to even most recent fullbring arc. Maybe its because he had more time to do on it, since it was planned since the beginning.

Do you read any mangas outside of WSJ?

    • Hi Shin Unit - August 4, 2014 at 5:58 pm #

@Sam: I don’t think you should avoid reading OP just because of intolerable fans. I admit OP has a vast number of them, but you can just ignore them like I do. OP is an enjoyable manga pre-ts and has some great moments in Shonen manga.

    • Leptor - August 4, 2014 at 6:43 pm #

I agree with Gildarts. Before I became a fan of One Piece, I was having a hard time giving it a fair chance for the same reason. A lot of the One Piece fans I had run into were cocky, and it made me want to dislike the series. Once I put all that aside though, I loved it and I really do believe it is the best ongoing series and second only to Dragon Ball all time. Of course, that doesn’t mean I have any issue with someone who may disagree with that. Either way, I wouldn’t let a group of fans stop you from giving a series a fair shot. All fan bases have some fans that act that way.

    • MmmNoLongerSaviorPandaGodOfDeathRemix - August 4, 2014 at 7:16 pm #

I wouldn’t give them much thought. Same as the hardcore American comic book fanbase, a lot of them are stupid douches which can make the whole fanbase and series look bad, especially those who delusionally exaggerate it’s quality and call it the best.

That being said read whatever you want, i’m not as interested in shounen as i used to be. I’ve already read plenty of the best series out there so i’m happy to shift some of my attention elsewhere.

      • Hi Shin Unit - August 4, 2014 at 6:58 pm #

I’m kind of disappointed that Shin isn’t staying back to finish what he started with Gai Mou and I now feel sorry for Ryuu Koku since it feels like he has a death flag over his head.

So far in this arc, Ou Hon is the one who has stood out the most, while Shin and the Hi Shin Unit have been very lacklustre. With that in my mind, I wonder who will be the one to finish of GHM. Personally, with the way this arc has gone I would like it if it was Kyou Kai who finishes him off with Shin finishing what he started with Gai Mou. That way, all 3 young future Great Generals will have gotten an accomplishment each.

BTW, I can’t wait to see Tou v Rei Ou (in a strategic battle) and Tou v Ran Bi Haku (in a physical dual) with Tou winning both.

      • MmmNoLongerSaviorPandaGodOfDeathRemix - August 4, 2014 at 7:09 pm #

Yeah, i wasn’t expecting him to walk away from that one, but the thought of Kyo Kai taking Go Houmei’s head is exciting. But shin and Gaimo will meet again, i guess it need to be shown at the right time according to the author. As for tou i keep expecting him to die, don’t know why exactly.

      • Hi Shin Unit - August 4, 2014 at 7:52 pm #

If Hara intends to stay keep to the outline of history then Tou won’t die. BTW, I doubt Qin can afford to lose any more Great Generals at this point in the story. As Shin and Kyou Kai pointed out they need more Great Generals to succeed in conquering China. Plus, Tou has far to much potential as a character/general to kill him off now.

I feel a little sorry for Mou Ten since he’s been left out of this.

      • MmmNoLongerSaviorPandaGodOfDeathRemix - August 4, 2014 at 9:46 pm #

Mou Ten’s one of my favorite characters, him sitting out is okay to me even though this is a trial for the next generation. I’m not too familiar with the historical events that Kingdom is based on, though i am aware that it’s based on historical figures and situations that occured in China, still it’s good to know that Tou isn’t likely to die, considering Qin lost Chou tou, Ou Ki, Duke Hyou, and Mou Gou it would be bad if they lost another powerhouse. I hope that he is one of the next six, at least i think he will be.

      • Hi Shin Unit - August 4, 2014 at 10:39 pm #

Mou Ten is a great character with a great personality. He’s had some good character development, however, Hara needs to take it one step further to push Mou Ten into the seat of Great General just like he did with Ou Hon in this arc. It’s kind of funny though, in history Ou Hon and Mou Ten are more well-known and renowned than Shin. TBH, the thing Shin is well-known for is a humiliating defeat to the State of Chu.

If you want to get more clued up on the history of China’s unification, then here are two links: <— A facts thread of Kingdom characters and their real-life counterparts.… <— A timeline of the events leading to the Unification of China. It starts from Sei Kyou's 1st rebellion (2nd rebellion in Kingdom) and onwards.

The Great Generals who have died so far in the manga play no important role in the Unification of China in history and so, Hara used them as tools to build his manga and make a set-up for the beginning of the Unification Conquest. Those who are left: Mou Bu, Tou, Kan Ki and in particular Ou Sen play important roles in the Unification of China and probably won't die until they have achieved the same accomplishments in Kingdom as they did in China's history. Mou Ten, Ou Sen, Yo Tan Wa and Kyou Kai are all in the same boat. Shin will be the only exception.

From what I know, in history there was never a group called the Six Great Generals of Qin and this is a fictional group but Hara will use this group in the future with a new set of Great Generals. From what I know, Ou Sen, Mou Bu, Kan Ki, Tou, Mou Ten, Ou Sen, Yo Tan Wa, Kyou Kai and Shin were all Great Generals of Qin. That means 9 Great Generals, but only 6 can be apart of the Great Generals of Qin. I personally believe this will be the line-up:

Ou Sen (He's been shown to be the same as Haku Ki and so, like Haku Ki, he will be the leader. BTW, both of them alongside Ri Boku and Ren Pa were the 4 most prominent Great Generals of the Warring States Era)

Shin (He will take Ou Ki's place)

Kyou Kai (She will take Kyou's place)

Mou Bu (Like Ou Kotsu, he is well-renowned for his strength and so will replace him)

        Mou Ten (New Generation)

        Ou Hom (New Generation)

As for Yo Tan Wa, I believe her circumstances will be different. Not sure how Hara will do this, but her being a leader like Sei leads me to believe she will hold power similar to the new gen 6 Great Generals but will not be a member of them. Kan Ki seems far to unreliable of a man to give such power to (although, you could say the same for Ou Sen) and Sei will abstain from giving him such power. Unfortunately, by process of elimination Tou in my eyes will not be a part of the Six Great Generals of Qin and it also has something to do with the position he attains in history a year after Qin conquer Han. You'll know what I mean if and when you have a look at Tou's bio.

BTW, in history Kyou Kai and Yo Tan Wa were men not women.

      • MmmNoLongerSaviorPandaGodOfDeathRemix - August 4, 2014 at 11:27 pm #

Looks like i’ll have to take a small break from pokemon y to look at those links. I remember reading somewhere that Yo Tanwa and Kyo Kai were historically men, though that doesn’t change much for me, Kyo Kai is my favorite character in the manga. I would love for yotanwa to be a general, but her role will most likely be different since she’s an ally.

I always thought that Ou Sen wouldn’t be one of the six due to his ambition and how he seems to desire his own kingdom, though him beeing one is awesome. Kan ki, though, i saw him as maybe having a change of sorts after the events with chou tou and such. We’ve seen that he’s clever enough to be a huge threat, but then again he really didn’t seem to care.

Tou has too much talent to go to waste, it doesn’t seem like he would need to compete as much as the new generation due to his strength and experience and i don’t see Heki being one of the six, thought you never know.

      • Hi Shin Unit - August 5, 2014 at 12:42 am #

It’s an interesting read and gives an insight of what to expect in the manga. Yeah, it don’t bother me either but I just thought I’d mention it. I wonder, were any women ever able to participate in wars during that era by pretending to be men?

Like I said, I don’t think Yo Tan Wa won’t be given the actual rank of a Great General like Shin and co since her circumstances are very different to the others. In terms of authority, she holds a similar authority to Sei with the only difference being that Yo Tan Wa participates in war while Sei doesn’t. I think that she will be given similar powers to the new generation of 6 Great Generals of Qin, but will not be considered a member of the group. However, in the end Yo Tan Wa will have to accept being number 2 to Sei since Sei will become King of China and it’s people which includes Yo Tan Wa.

I, personally, believe that there is no-one more suited to being the leader of the new generation of 6 Great Generals of Qin than Ou Sen. In history, as far as I know, it was never stated that Ou Sen had a desire to be King and so we can assume Hara made this up for a particular reason. I’m not too sure how he intends to play the whole Ou Sen situation out, but I think it’ll be resolved before the new 6 Great Generals of Qin are announced.

I forgot to mention, but another reason why I don’t think Kan Ki will become a member of 6 Great Generals of Qin is because of how he meets his end in history. It’s quite a sad ending for him and if Hara does intend to do this in the manga then it shall be a very emotional moment in manga. As for Kan Ki changing, well that will never happen. Not long after the coalition war he once again showed us his cruel but cool side. Here:
IMO, even though Sei is willing to spill blood in order to unite China, he won’t allow blood to be spilled unnecessarily, which would be the case with Kan Ki if he was given powers similar to the 6 Great Generals of Qin.

It will be a shame if Tou doesn’t become a member of the 6 Great Generals of Qin but I just don’t see him getting a position ahead of the 6 I named and coupled together with his situation in history, I am quite sure he won’t be a member of 6 Great Generals of Qin.

From what I’m aware of, if Heki was based of a man in history then he was quite an insignificant person and so I doubt he will hold a position similar to people like Ou Sen and co. I think he’ll end up becoming Shin’s bitch once Shin becomes a Great General. Remember Mou Gou’s army were he had Ou Sen and Kan Ki as his Generals? The same was with Ou Ki’s army although they weren’t officially Generals. I believe Heki will be in a similar position to them.

Did no one else take issue with the fact that a fraccion pwned the same bambi that komamura ripped his heart out and sacrificed his humanity to beat? Only excuse for this that is logical(as if logic ever mattered to kubo) would be that her zombies aren’t able to access the full power they had in life. Which if this is the case, zombigaya isn’t much to worry about, since bambi would have pwned him in life, and got pwned by fraccion, i don’t see how he’d be any more of a threat than she is now. I’m still furious about kubo trolling the whole of the Gotei from the start with these sternritters, since head captains buddy got pwned without us even seeing a fight(or lack thereof)… After Aizen especially, the gotei were supposed to have been made aware of their lacking sufficient strength, and still, after supposedly training almost 2 years to be capable of making more of a difference should such a threat ever rise again, they all have been mostly fodderized. If visiting RR for a week or so of training can make such an incredible difference in the powers of a soul reaper, why would they NOT make it prerequisite for those soul reapers with enough base power/heart or strength of soul to make a trip to royal realm for basically like a special ops training program? IMO squad 0 and/or Soul King are plainly poor tacticians/leaders for NOT allowing entry for even a few just because they’re pompous asses, and that arrogance has led to catastrophe and destruction of the very realm and organization they pawn off the vast majority of responsibility (maintaining balance, protecting/preventing entry into the RR) on to. Also still wondering how 6000 seconds of open seals is enough for them to travel all the way up to RR which took even the freshly super powered SS members a matter of many hours to make the journey down from, or why they had to wait for ichigo to land, since the others had already arrived presumably opening the seals with their new threads also, and just ganking ichigo if they so happen to see him on the way up, 3 or 4 on 1(i forget how many of them went up). Plot fails, all over the place. A good writer covers such holes with a variety of writing devices, and provides some sort of material to make the work clear and understandable, or even to answer even just A COUPLE of the MANY, MANY questions the directions the story has taken have left open and utterly unattended. As I mentioned last week, I won’t be reading the new chapters any longer, at least until either the story is complete, or maybe just a few months ahead from current standing… I just can’t take the empty chapters one at a time anymore. Every week, the spoilers clearly portray the problem, in that bleach is REGULARLY and DEPENDABLY summed up in no more than 3 to 5 simple sentences, compared to spoilers for other shonen manga that break down to at LEAST a solid half page, and more often closer to a full page or more. I’m sure a few will be responding regardless of my explanation with the typical “DON’T LIKE IT, DON’T READ IT” comments, and so to those, I say, fuck off. I’ve invested years of love and caring into this story and it’s characters, I, and any others, are more than entitled to making completely valid complaints at our disappointment in Kubo to live up to the epic standards he set early on. Unrelated, but I feel the same about the US TV show “Falling Skies”… loved first couple seasons, and as the story moved on, writers simply lost all focus, and each season did more to invalidate all of the developments that came before it than the last. Potentially epic pieces of art, ruined by pandering to the lowest common denominator, and inconsideration of the foundations upon which their stories were built upon. End rant. Venting feels good. Fuck any and all haters. ME > YOU, anyhow. (more than likely, i’ll keep it real and say theres a possibility that a few here might at least be = to, if not < than, I.) :)

Bleach has grown so bloated, tired, and unoriginal that even the franchise’s hardcore fantards are beginning to awaken to the fact they’re wasting precious moments of their ever-so-short short lives watching the exact same story told over and over and over again with different backgrounds and more homoerotic posing.
In terms of anime series with no plot, endless fight scenes, and a fuckwit loyal fanbase finally awakening to the reality of the Matrix, the only thing worse than Bleach is Naruto.

Bullshit, the only thing worse than bleach is peroxide.

People are complaining about Charlotte Coulhorne defeating Bambietta but they for get that she was a One trick horse. Although she had other abilities, she mainly used her explode power. Mayuri had been observing her, and most likely relayed her abilities to the arrancsr. She was no match for Charlotte as soon as her ability was explained to him, assuming it was. All he had to do was get close to her body because she womt throw a bomb so close to her body.

Komamura in all his glory still didnt finish her off.

Shinji was too cocky and knew very little about his opponents abilities so he got caught off guard.

People are so focused on hax abilities that they forget there are other things that play into battle.

These arent asspulls. some of these people just want the story to go how they want it to. And when it doesnt, then all of the sudden its an asspull.

    its ridiculous.

    • CSS - August 6, 2014 at 5:27 am #

No, no, fraccion vs sternritter… thats an asspull. whatever the hell an asspull is. I don’t care about “what ifs” that aren’t in REALITY included in the works, in any way shape or form. Kubo writes his stories and fights however the fuck he wants, with no regard for any precedents he has set, prior character developments, revelations, or anything else. He just writes, boldly moving forward, and fuck anyone that cases for a DECENT story. I hate to agree with debussy, but, I absofuckinglutely do. 110% Bleach is a wash and repeat series. completely lacking depth, or true forward progress. Just circular, repetitive, meaningless jockeying.

      • AfterDeath - August 6, 2014 at 5:36 am #

How is it an asspull if 1)her abilities have been explained, so they wont work on him.

        2)shes dead.

3)hes an arrancar. Unless you’ve forgotten how strong the arrancar are lets not forget that charlotte coulhorn is a physical attacker. He does close combat. Something that bambietta does not. She uses long range attacks. She was outmatched. Simple. There is no asspull. Not to mention she flew right into that cero with no defense or guard up.

no ass pulls. And im pretty sure all mangas have their share of repetative matierial. So you might as well stop reading manga all together.

    • Ari - August 6, 2014 at 6:00 am #

Great post, After Death. I agree. Well, about Bambi, wasn’t she very broken by the time Charlotte got to her? She was defeated by Komamura, killed and zombiefied by Giselle, sliced by Ikkaku and Yumichika, deactivated by Mayuri… It totally made sense that Charlotte finished her quickly.
And Charlotte is a tough opponent. His Cero should be tough. (And maybe revived Charlotte is tougher than normal Charlotte.)
I hope Bambi really is dead. Though she was a terrible person when she was alive, I still don’t want her to suffer under Giselle. I want so much for Giselle to be defeated and the zombies released/killed/returned to normal.
Those zombies…their bodies are totally different from normal Shinigamis and Quincies. Maybe a Cero is all that is needed? Even the weakest Cero from the weakest character in Bleach? Do you think the Cero will be the #1 method to beat zombies in Bleach?
Fans, for any manga, tend to be terrible. They want chapters to go this exact way, and if anything different happens, they cry that it’s a terrible chapter. The things that could happen in a chapter are infinite, especially with a fantasy manga! Battles have so many factors—setting, health, strength, skill, power compatibility, luck, cleverness, allies, interruptions…
Or fans say it’s a terrible chapter just because a certain character showed up. The Hitsugaya hate this week was disgusting. These fans give their hate fancily worded justifications, but you can easily see their true, abysmally stupid reasons.
I really really hate words like “asspull”, “jumping the shark”, “fodder”…the way they’re thoughtlessly, excessively thrown around.
I hope you don’t get sucked into stupid fans’ crap. I have to regularly remind myself to not get sucked into stupid fans’ crap. What about you?

Fact: Stern Ritters vollstandigg can’t beat a base captain class bankai.
An arrancar’s Resurrección are on the same footing as base captain class reiatsu Bankai. however, depending on there rankings between Espada and Fracion, they can be above or below captain rank.

Therefore: where was it ever stated that a quincy will outclass an arrancar? never. in fact Shinigami and stern ritters ranks in power are flexible to the point there equals. The difference in power comes from the power they obtain from wielding Rei(soul) based weapons… Such as Zanpakuto, Quincy Cross, and fullbring.

The power of a Zanpakuto mimics the power of ones soul and molds that power into a soul(Asauchi) that’s forged into weapon form. quincy’s channel there powers into reishi and there crosses, The soul of the crosses that was given to them is weaker than the Soul of a Zanpakuto that was made and molded for them by there own soul. hence the reason they created a method to Medalize bankai.

Here’s the 5 Ranks in power
Above Captain:(Shinigami Commander, Yhwach, Current Ichigo, Masked Vizards, Segunda Etapa Ulquiorra)

      Captain: (Captain shinigami, Espada?)

assist Captain:(Stern Ritter, Lieutenant, Vizards unmasked?, fracion, fullbringers)

foot soldiers: (low seats shinigami, Soldat, hollows)
Fodder: current Aizen, humans & plus.

yeah hybrids are a different story, the power fluctuates from time to time. Majority of the hybrids haven’t reached there true power, or power is unable to escape the limits placed on them during there hybrids training. and these include The arrancars, the vizards,Ichigo in the past, and the past hogyoku aizen. there power are inconsistent compared to the hybrids that wield there full power with no conditions.

We have only seen that with Segunda Etapa Ulquiorra (and Possibly Ichigo… if Ichigo doesn’t receive another upgrade from his current missing in action fullbring). The hybrid ranking system is so complex, Kubo himself will have to explain it.

      • VinC3nt - August 6, 2014 at 11:02 am #

The Vizards are previous captains and assistant captains, so I’m sure, unmasked Vizards can be both Assist Cap and Cap level.

  22. Bleach spoilers r out mb

Zombigaya heavily injures Ikkaku and Yumichika
Also landed a cut on Charlotte

    End of Chapter

    • Issander - August 6, 2014 at 7:14 am #

This translation seems short and is probably not complete but hell, it will probably be just that. It is Bleach we’re talking about, after all…

“Zombigaya heavily injures Ikkaku and Yumichika. Also landed a cut on Charlotte.

      End of chapter.”
