One Piece 837 Spoiler Summaries

Sources: 2ch
Trnaslation: Sandman

Cracker says he is Biscuit Knight. His sword is called Pretzel, which is one of the best swords in the world.

Nami suggests Luffy to run away since she thinks Cracker must be one of the top executives, but Luffy rejects and attacks him via Elephant Gun.

Cracker protects himself via his shield and overwhelms Luffy.

Nami is surprised that even the subordinate of Yonkou can overwhelm Luffy.

According to Brulee, Kidd, Apoo, Bege and Urouge also invaded Big Mom’s territory for these 2 years, but all of them except Capone ran away without seeing Big Mom’s face. Capone instantly decided to be under the umbrella of Big Mom.

Only Urouge was able to defeat one of the Sweet “4” Commanders/Admirals (the same title as Cracker), but got defeated by Cracker. Brulee believes Urouge must be dead now.

Brulee tries to capture Nami, but Pound saves her. Nami attacks Brulee via Thunderbolt Tempo. Brulee escapes into the world of her mirror.

Luffy attacks Cracker via Hawk Gatling, but Cracker defends himself via his shield.

Luffy is surprised at his level of CoA.

Cracker: If you think Sanji as one of your crewmates, leave him as he is. Sanji is a prince of a strong nation. His status is far superior to you. He will live here with his proud wife. You’re saying that you want to take back Sanji although you don’t hope for his happiness, right? I’m sure Sanji will tell you。”Go home you filthy low grade pirates!”

Luffy gets enraged and attacks him via Kong Gun in his stomach, which destroys Cracker’s shield and blows him off.

Luffy: Don’t make fun of Sanji! Even if he is happy and doesn’t wanna join us again, he won’t tell us about it in such a way!

There will be a chapter next week.

One Piece 836 Spoiler Trivia: While Big Mom is known for sending gruesome presents to those who refuse to go to her tea parties, she has ironically been sent one of her own, courtesy of Luffy: the Tamatebako box, which the Minister of the Right has rigged to explode if anyone tries opening it, though Luffy was not made aware of this until after he had given away the box to Pekoms and Tamago, thinking it would appease Big Mom.

Do you think Alice would participate in the Queen of Heart game? I can see some big names (with strong psychological and intelligence based skill) would appear in this game: Mira (obviously, the Queen), Banda, Yaba, Niragi (hinted in the previous King of Clover game), An, Chisashi (his visa might end up soon).

It would be battle of geniuses, yohoho another bloody game. :)

Not gonna lie, Luffys clash with Kaido in the new opening looks so good. To bad it was only 5 sec lol.

Zoro & Sanji vs Jack looked so bad.

Damn. He just countered a KK Gun like it was a normal punch. That shit gonna be lit.

      • Pirate King - August 28, 2016 at 11:50 am #

Uhh, it’ll be BM first who countered kk gun with such fashion tho. Mweheheh, sorry to ruin ur imagination.

Yeah. I don’t want her to be so fucking strong, but she is going to be. Her appearance sucks.

Dont trust Toei. I doubt they got any advice by Oda before making the new opening.

          Yeah. Dumb ass studio.

toei is ruining one piece. they’re the reason that people’s views on characters are so skewered.

      • Sane - August 28, 2016 at 11:56 am #

Thats true. They depict certain things very differently from the manga. Thus anime only viewers usually have vastly different (and wrong) opinions on many things.

Luffy-Doflamingo power clash on the final attack is a great example.

That thing for the marketing’s purpose

Since japan loves bouncing boobs, I wonder will BM’s boobs become bouncy bouncy when she fight luffy. Those impacts surely strong enough to make the boobs bouncing uncontrollably. Mweheheh. Gonna ruin ur good imagination with this shitty one. Mweheheh

    • Sane - August 28, 2016 at 12:46 pm #

I think so, i think he will try one final attack, his strongest.

          it’s still 2 days away.

      • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 12:49 pm #

the attack is probably the reason for his epithet, 1000 arms with 1000 swords.
I want Luffy to counter with a Kong Rifle, we haven’t seen that yet.

        • - August 28, 2016 at 12:52 pm #

We havent even seen an Elephant Rifle.

        • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 12:54 pm #

true but I doubt that Elephant Rifle would be sufficient against Cracker’s ultimate attack.

        • - August 28, 2016 at 12:59 pm #

Yeah it would be kinda lame if Luffy was to disable G4 anyway after Cracker went all out.

  7. - August 28, 2016 at 12:57 pm #

Now that i mentioned Elephant Rifle.

Luffy used Elephant Gun and Cracker struggled to block it. The difference in strength between Elephant gun and Elephant rifle should be as big as the difference between pistol and rifle. So imagine if Luffy had used Elephant Rifle back then. It would most likely pass through Cracker’s guard. And then there are so many stronger attacks that Luffy could have used.

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 1:12 pm #

yep, which is why I said that Luffy could have defeated Cracker without G4. it would obviously take quite a bit longer, he’d probably need to have a proper fight but he’d still win, whereas with G4 it’ll end in 2 attacks.

    • Sane - August 28, 2016 at 1:29 pm #

      http://img12.deviantart.net/0aac/i/2014/264/7/e/red_hawk___luffy_vs__doflamingo_by_charly_z-d800u1p.jpg

Oda!! Give us Red Hawk Gatling Gun.

      • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 1:37 pm #

a Red Eagle is possible and a Red Hawk Cannon, but I’m not sure a Red Hawk Gatling is, since his Red attacks tend to involve pulling back from a distance.

        • Sane - August 28, 2016 at 1:59 pm #

How does his Red attacks even happen? I thought he could ignite at will?

        • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 2:12 pm #

from the observed use cases it seems limited to attacks he stretches and pulls back, like Bullet and Bazooka possibly also Rifle.
the combined steam of G2 with the hardening of CoA and the fast recall from a distance of G2 causes his fist to ignite as a result of friction forces.

        • Sane - August 28, 2016 at 2:15 pm #

I see, a shame :/. Was hoping for gatling gun with fire.

        • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 2:23 pm #

well logically it’s still possible if that is the way, since Gatling is a repeated fire it could ignite after a few punches when the friction builds up enough.

  8. Pirate King - August 28, 2016 at 12:59 pm #

all g4 attacks were machine guns/artillery attack. I wonder if there will be his g4 equivalent of whip, axe, bell, stamp, etc

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 1:14 pm #

his stamp is also a artillery weapon. Rhino Schneider.

he used Bell as well but didn’t say its name.

  9. Komori Ningen - August 28, 2016 at 1:18 pm #

My honest Opinion on Cracker or Doffy who is stronger so far.

First of all Doffy never tanked a surprised kong gun (he was always haki-ing up to reduce the impact) plus he never tanked a gear 3 attack as well: he either used spider net (his strongest defensive asset) or he avoided the blows.

The only time Doffy reacted similarly to Cracker was when he got surprised by red hawk (which is way weaker than kong gun)

I recall Doffy beating Luffy down but I also recall that basic Luffy was able to retaliate at a certain extend even without Law’s help.

Cracker on the other hand one sided basic Luffy through and through (note that Luffy is a saiyan as he gets stronger after each fight, so basically one could argue that this basic Luffy is a little stronger than the one who fought Doffy)

Still, awakened Doffy was able to stall Boundman and avoid his attacks for half an hour, he also tanked the Leo Bazooka which. is impressive. Too bad King Kong shattered both his strongest Awakened offensive and defensive attack to ultimately pound him down.

In definitive, based on this week’s chapter only, I came to the conclusion that Cracker is stronger than Basic Doffy but ultimately weaker than awakened Doffy.

Since basic and awakened are still part of Doffy, I end up agreeing that Doffy might be stronger than Cracker unless next chapter he showcases something new and then I’ll review my judgement

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 1:32 pm #

      1. Kong Gun was not a surprise attack on Cracker, you could see the fear in Cracker’s eyes in the previous panel when Luffy used G4, it was very much like the fear in Jean Ango’s eyes when he realised he had attacked Chinjao. Cracker saw what was coming and shit himself.
Kong Gun also broke through Cracker’s strongest defence which was his biscuit shields covered in his strong CoA, Hard Biscuit, pretty much like KKG breaking through Spider Web.

      2. Doflamingo was hurt by Red Hawk but he didn’t black out for a moment from it, had he been he would definitely not have survived a single Kong Gun, much less 4 more, even more powerful, attacks.

      3. the difference here is in their CoA strength, Cracker’s focus on CoA made his defence hard to overcome, whereas Doflamingo’s was weak enough for them to fight evenly, but that’s just a focus on their attributes and doesn’t reflect their total strength.

      • Komori Ningen - August 28, 2016 at 7:48 pm #

        1. Fair enough, it was a frontal attack so it couldn’t be a surprised attack. Once again you don’t know for certain that the biscuit shield is his ULTIMATE defence ?

        2. Cracker eyes turned white due to the impact, he was mumbling afterwards which means he’s not unconscious yet. We couldn’t see Doffy’s eyes when he got shot with that red hawk but one thing his certain, they both equally coughed blood; in fact I could argue that Doffy had it worse than Cracker.

        3. This doesn’t make sense to me, alright Cracker has stronger COA but it was clear by how easily he was sending Luffy flying around that his physical strength is also on par if not superior to Doffy’s. The only advantage Doffy would have is on his Df ( the awakaning + self recovery )
You seem to think that Cracker has just his COA which is untrue

        • RealmofD - August 28, 2016 at 8:44 pm #

You also have to factor in that Doffy took the red hawk by complete surprise. He was chilling on his throne and was not haki up. So his body took the full force of that attack.
We can assume cracker was somewhat surprised by Luffy’s attack but was still haki up. So I think Luffy’s G4 broke through his haki.

        • Komori Ningen - August 28, 2016 at 10:39 pm #

The whole point of my comparison is that I believe both Cracker and Doffy were no clad with haki when They got punched.
Cracker used haki on his shield but I guess he left his body out of the open thus Kong Gun having the same effect as the red hawk to Doffy

        • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 5:10 am #

          1. given his fighting style and DF I fail to see how his defense could get any better than using his powerful CoA with his shield.

          2. which is why I said blacked out for a moment and not that he was TKO’d. the white eyes mean he lost consciousness for a second, the mumbling afterwards is when he regained his consciousness.

          3. Doflamingo’s fighting style is very similar to Luffy’s, they are both balanced fighters, focusing as much on defense as they do on attack and with a balanced focus on their DF power (excluding the awakening of course) whereas Cracker is clearly heavily focused on his CoA for defense and offense, his physical strength is largely lacking in comparison and his physical defense isn’t that great either, his CoO and speed are probably much weaker too, which is why he has to make up for it with a strong defense.
while this may give the impression of Cracker being more capable because he can block everything, whereas Doflamingo was dodging and weaving, in truth it’s just a variation in fighting style.
the problem with Cracker’s is that his lack of balance leads to a disadvantage if his CoA doesn’t hold, so he either looks much stronger than his opponent if they can’t overcome his CoA or much weaker if they can.

        • Komori Ningen - August 29, 2016 at 6:38 am #

          1. You might fail to see but Oda might not. So far I’m agreeing with you on that subject, only this week’s chapter will tell if it’s right or wrong.

          2. This is an unfair statement, we didn’t see Doffy’s eyes when he received that red haw, odds are that his eyes turned white at the impact as well like every other characters who received fully one of luffy’s blow in their guts. I don’t know why would Doflamingo cough so much blood if his eyes didn’t turn white from the pain.

3.This I definitely disagree, Doffy had a slightly above average mastery of haki, he wasn’t as fast as Luffy and wasn’t extremely strong physically (Luffy got a clean hit from Doflamingo’s haki covered punch on his face yet it failed to. Deal any serious damage)
Doflamingo’s fighting style was more Df based.
Cracker from last week’s chapter showcase a strong defense as well as a strong attack due to his Coa, he also out-sped Luffy, landing blows where he was still in mid air, on top of that he was fast enough to still attack while Luffy was still flying which gave Luffy no time to react.
To finish Cracker physical strength is monstrous, due to how much and easily he sent Luffy flying miles away.
Truly Doflamingo only outshines Cracker in his df mastery, Cracker beats him on everything else

        • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 7:22 am #

          1. lol, there’s a reasonable expectation of ones abilities based on the way they fight. So Cracker’s defense capabilities are the use of his shield and haki.

          2. it’s not unfair at all, if Red Hawk could make Doflamingo lose consciousness then Kong Gun would have defeated him instantly. Law even stated that Red Hawk was just superficial damage, if he nearly lost consciousness then it wouldn’t be considered superficial.

          3. the recoil of an attack doesn’t necessarily mean it’s stronger, that attack may have sent Luffy flying but it couldn’t even overcome Luffy’s CoA, whereas Doflamingo’s attacks actually did and drew some blood.
Cracker did not out speed Luffy, lmao he attacked while Luffy was in mid air, meaning that Luffy wouldn’t be in a position to maneuver easily, that has nothing to do with speed but rather opportunity.
the funniest part of your arguments is that Doflamingo actually did every one of those things too, except he one upped nearly all of Cracker’s feats.
blocked Elephant Gun, out sped Hawk Gatling, kicked Luffy with Athlete Thread and drew blood, blocked Double Culverin, etc.
Cracker’s only advantage was his superior CoA which was held back by his own weaker physical strength, since even with his superior CoA he couldn’t overcome Luffy’s own CoA despite also having a Named Sword.

  10. Sane - August 28, 2016 at 2:01 pm #

Cracker didn’t just roll away, his recoil was stopped by a wall he crashed into:

  11. Pirate King - August 28, 2016 at 2:54 pm #

Okay. This is disgusting. I’ve never care about Jesse Eisenberg’s acting before bvs, but now I’m currently watching Now U See Me 2, wtf, his acting is the same as he was in bvs. Like wtf? That means he can’t act as anyone but himself n this guy’s a movie star. Smh. Jesse boo eisenberg.

    • Pirate King - August 28, 2016 at 2:57 pm #

I’ve read a lot of comments about how he was being himself on bvs (not becoming lex luthor), but I thought he was just trying to create a new lex. Well, it turns out he’s being himself in all movies. Poor acting at its best. Shame.

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 3:13 pm #

Jesse has a general tone that he can’t hide where you know that it’s him in every movie, which is probably what you’re picking up on, but he does have variations in his acting.

if you’ve seen the Social Network, the character he portrays in that is very different to Lex, although ironically it’s actually more like what he should have been like for Lex than his BvS portrayal.

also he wasn’t like Lex in the first Now you see me or in American ultra.

      • Nidai Kitetsu - August 28, 2016 at 3:15 pm #

but since his tone always comes through his acting doesn’t seem all that distinguished, especially when compared to someone like Daniel Day-Lewis who becomes a completely different person when acting

        • Pirate King - August 28, 2016 at 3:20 pm #

Hmm, yeah, I can see that, as I’ve watched now u c me 1 n didn’t realize anything weird from him, lol. But that wasn’t a unique feature n won’t work on many different portrayals. So, he still sucks at hiding his own behavior of being “kinda” weird with his speech pattern.

        • Pirate King - August 28, 2016 at 3:29 pm #

*I mean it is his unique feature but won’t work on many different portrayals

    • Sakanade - August 28, 2016 at 4:23 pm #

I actually enjoyed Eisenbergs acting in Batman v Superman I watched 1 week ago. All other portrayals of Luther has been boring except maybe Smalville show. And I think he was Luther junior.

Wait that aint hawk gatling? Or you think he needs to say red first cuz he would say red for something else wouldnt he? There is no hawk gun, but red hawk. This is the only hawk attack

        • - August 28, 2016 at 3:55 pm #

Sane wants to see a Red Hawk Gatling. The attack you linked is a just jet gatling gun with haki.

Its not only the word “Red”. There arent any flames either.

        • Sane - August 28, 2016 at 4:47 pm #

          Yeah this^.

Red Hawk is basically hawk + fire.

Hawk Gatling gun < Red Hawk Gatling gun.

    Vegeta just got owned again
This time by the hands of Pink Black
What a shame , even though Vegeta and Goku are somewhat the same level he still keeps failing to succeed every single time

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 5:15 am #

don’t fall for the anime crap show, they always represent things different to the manga.

in the manga Goku never used KaioKen on Hit and even his Super Saiyan God form was stronger than Hit. it was explained that turning into Super Saiyan Blue drains a lot of energy so since Vegeta did it twice his power against Hit was actually weaker than Goku’s Super Saiyan God strength and if Vegeta hadn’t shown Cabbage his Super Saiyan Blue form he’d have beaten Hit easily too.

I bet it’ll be a similar situation now.

someone needs to ask oda to list all pirate bounties that he doesn’t plan on revealing later in the manga through SBS

  16. Sane - August 28, 2016 at 7:49 pm #

Will Oda ever reveal a cool strong Bounty Hunter? One can only hope…

    • antarus - August 28, 2016 at 8:37 pm #

i think only zoro. unless balckbeard also counts because he captured ace.

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 5:27 am #

I think that while seeing some bounty hunters would be cool and Oda probably has many ideas about bringing some in, that if he did that it would just prolong the story even more.

he should just simply make Fujitora and Ryokugyu former bounty hunters. that way it explains why the marines were able to find such strong people for the conscription and we get to see that there were some very strong bounty hunters. some of the new VAs should be bounty hunters too. it would allow for a whole bunch of bounty hunters to be introduced without taking focus off the main story.

Oda said he gets mad when someone says his characters are weak

urouge seems popular and meme worthy, and seems one of oda’s favourites, could be the reason why he got the ” defeated one of the 4 sweet commanders” hype

    • antarus - August 28, 2016 at 8:43 pm #

for example he hates when someone says this villain is weak, so that motivates him to make him stronger

    • ~7OPofD.w0rld - August 28, 2016 at 10:45 pm #

the way I c it, all the Supernovas from Luffys generation have a significant role 2 play in the series, some smaller some bigger but still memorable IMO…as 4 Urouge taking down a commander is praiseworthy but since we don’t know the details I can’t say much…

    Hunter x Hunter episode 60.

      So..?

  19. The Brak - August 29, 2016 at 6:27 am #

Ok after late reading of the chapter here are my thoughts on Cracker vs Luffy:

Cracker is definitely stronger than DD. He casually blocked Luffy g2 and g3 attacks imbued with haki. He was faster than Luffy g2. Luffy g4 was as expected stronger than Yonko commander. I still think fight is not over, cracker most probably awakned his fruit so he still could put up a fight, unless Luffy wont give him time and instantly go for king kong (which I doubt).

This makes me wonder how strong BM is if her commanders are at awakned doffy Level or maybe even stronger. It looks to me that G4 Luffy might not be enough to defeat BM or it will be equal to her strength.

    • The Brak - August 29, 2016 at 6:33 am #

also I dont like the fact that Luffy g2 and g3 became a fodder weapon … Luffy wont be able to defeat any stronger new world pirate without g4. If so Oda should show us some improvements on g4 like second stage of g4 where Luffy puts even more haki and more air pressure into his body.

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 6:52 am #

lol, his focus on CoA does not mean that he’s stronger than Doflamingo, he’s also not faster than G2.

Doflamingo also blocked Elephant Gun and he was able to evade Hawk Gatling.

just because Cracker’s CoA is strong enough to block those attacks and Doflamingo still takes some damage from them doesn’t mean that Cracker’s overall strength is greater than Doflamingo’s.
lets also not forget that Cracker is also using a shield, so stronger haki plus shield means he’s not being hit at all, while even if Doflamingo’s haki was the same as Cracker’s he’d still take damage because it was his body being hit, not a shield.
also Doflamingo was able to block Luffy’s double Culverin with his awakened strings while Kong Gun overcame Cracker’s haki and broke his shields.

so we’ve seen a few overpowered Devil Fruit powers and in each case they had a big drawback to their powers.

    Robin:
    – damage to a copy damages the original

    Teach:
    – lacks intangibility
    – increases damage intake from attacks

    Law:
    – huge drain on stamina

    Mansherry:
    – total recovery powers have a limited use (stamina drain??),
    – restoration powers reduce lifespan,
    – large scale powers are limited to short term healing or incremental healing for a few wounds.

    Marco:
    – regeneration powers have limited use (stamina drain??).

    • antarus - August 29, 2016 at 7:21 am #

the thing is, what do powers like akainus, aokiji, fujitora have? stamina? well, akainu and ao can fight for 10 days, but not sure if they used their df power the entire 10 days…

      • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 7:28 am #

all powers use stamina, it’s just that OP powers like Law’s, Mansherry’s and Marco’s use even more.

I don’t think the stamina used by logia’s is any different than that used by pseudo logia’s like Magellan or Galdino (except for also maintaining their DF bodies). the amount and speed of their elemental release determines how much stamina they use, which is why more powerful characters can use their logia’s more freely as they have far greater stamina to use (same reason Law’s room got bigger)

but I don’t think the drain of a logia’s stamina is that great so they shouldn’t have much trouble fighting for several days as Aokiji and Akainu did, or even Ace.

So.. Anyone still hope for other Forms of G4 ?
If Cracker is still on his legs i guess we get to see another Form.

    • The Brak - August 29, 2016 at 7:11 am #

I think Oda already gave up on g2 and g3 so we will definitely see improvements to g4. I think Luffy in fight with BM will imbue even more haki and more air into his muscles to become like g4v2 where he is even bigger and even more elastic.

    • antarus - August 29, 2016 at 7:33 am #

      bound man musles

      pound man fat lol

skinny man version lol, but harder, like vulcanisation

giant bound man g4( g3 plus g4 on full body)

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 7:34 am #

well since G4 works a lot like G3 in how it’s formed I suspect that Luffy can focus the inflation into just a single limb just like he does with G3 to create more powerful attacks than boundman.
we’ve seen that he can do this already, where he focused the second inflation on just a single limb to make it bigger and more powerful to create King Kong Gun, although this one wouldn’t be as powerful as King Kong Gun since that was an inflation on top of his existing G4 form.

this also sets up the possibility of a full body G3 form similar to G4.

      • powner ® - August 29, 2016 at 8:27 am #

Ye i would like something like that

  22. antarus - August 29, 2016 at 7:28 am #

Does Urouge have the ” karma karma no mi”? as in the karma stikes back on his enemies? with his increased size and bonus damage.

or is he like a vampire, but instead of feeding with blood he feeds with his enemy’s energy that makes him stronger?

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 7:38 am #

given his characters monk theme the Karma fruit is very probable, even his bounty preTS (108m) was based on Buddhist symbolism.

also the Karma power may have provided Urouge a way out of the fight once he couldn’t defeat Cracker, as in Urouge has an ability to use the bad karma of attacking an already injured opponent as a way to escape a fight (just spit-balling)

      • - August 29, 2016 at 7:48 am #

Sounds like the most ridiculous DF to me xD

        • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 7:58 am #

          until the next one, lol.

  23. antarus - August 29, 2016 at 7:34 am #

I think luffy will beat Big mom combining g3 and g4, and make the giant version of g4

    • antarus - August 29, 2016 at 7:34 am #

      on his full body.

      • antarus - August 29, 2016 at 7:35 am #

and we could see the first armaments user that protects himself from df power with his armaments.

like vergo wanted to do with law, except luffy will actually manage to do it agains’t big mom.

  24. antarus - August 29, 2016 at 7:37 am #

    man… mode…

  25. antarus - August 29, 2016 at 7:38 am #

Who has better armaments, luffy or zoro?

and do armaments get better the more you use it in hard battles?

    • Nidai Kitetsu - August 29, 2016 at 7:44 am #

well after this arc it should be Luffy’s and yes CoA and CoO grow with training, hard battles are a form of training.

    • LogicoftheVI - August 29, 2016 at 2:30 pm #

From the very beginning it’s always been Luffy. He was the first to Straw Hat to use Haki or to even learn what it was. Luffy’s Haki has been more impressive that Zoro’s to this point. In the end it wouldn’t surprise me if Zoro has the strongest CoA due to Luffy having the strongest CoC.
