world trigger 162

ワールドトリガー 163話 ネタバレへ続く!!

– Osamu is surprised as to why Commander Kido had a room at Tamakoma.
– Osamu opens another drawer and finds a group photo in it. Notices Konami, Branch Chief Rindo and Kazama’s brother? (This is why probably why Rindo calls Kazama as Soya.)
– He takes the photo to Yuri who says that those are nostalgic and are from six years ago.
– Osamu says Kido isn’t in the photograph. She points to the smiling man and says he’s the one (Notice no scar)
– Osamu asks why Commander Kido had a room in Tamakoma and Yuri says that it was Old Border’s HQ and the 19 members in the photograph are its members and reminisces how the days were lively then and is lonely now.
– Three names come up. Kido, Kiriyama and Oshida. Talks about some people shifting to HQ and some leaving Border.
– Osamu asks about the rest and Yuri says they’re dead.
– She explains the Old Border emblem. The three smaller circles are ally countries and the larger circle is Miden and how the allies helped each other against enemies.
– Some of the dead people have created Black Triggers too. Chief Rindo talks about Mogami’s Black Trigger again.
– Replica’s example where a country on the verge of defeat turns the tide because of the creation of a Black Trigger is brought up.
– Yuri says something about Kido saying “All Neighbours are enemies” was to garner more support but the real aim of Border was to act as a Bridge between the worlds as emphasised in the Emblem and some more dialogue regarding this topic.
– Konami is embarrassed to look at the old photographs.
– Yuma wins 12-8 against Hyuse. Yuma says “Grasshopper Yahooo!!” probably attributing his win mainly to Grasshopper.
– Cronin says something about being tough to manage Bullet Triggers but Hyuse says that with practice he’s gonna be okay.
– Chika comes in and is like “Are you also going to HQ Yuma?” So Yuma asks Hyuse to tag along too. Hyuse says he’s gonna stay undercover as he’s gathered too much attention at HQ already and says Yuma is too noisy and asks him to leave Lmao
– Reiji offers to pick Chika up from HQ at 6 p.m. Yuma says he doesn’t need dinner because he’s going to Kage’s house (Holy Mother of God)
– Yuma and Chika part ways at HQ and Yuma goes to meet Kage and Ko while Chika goes on to meet Ema and Toma.
Next chapter: Strategy of each unit in the next battle…!?

Man I just hope some dude doesn’t jump on it and typeset the chapter using Korean raws. Hydro is working on the Japanese Raws as we speak and we’re gonna have a chapter shortly. Hope these noobs realise that.

    • LogicoftheVI - October 21, 2016 at 2:41 pm #

I can wait for Monday if I have to. Anyway it goes this chapter looks to be full of good information. The Border Emblem even seems to symbolize their relation to the neighborhoods.

    Chapter 162 is out.

    • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 8:13 am #

Unfortunately, since the T/L Notes were quite long, Hydro wasn’t able to put them in the chapter. But continue to read this post for them.

      1) Pg.12 [REVOLT] = Yuri doesn’t specifically mention who she refers to as the “revolters”, since contextually HQ is referred to as the “new theory” challenging “Old Border”. However, Tamakoma is the subject of the immediately preceding line and HQ could be considered the faction “in power”. As an original member I’m assuming she means HQ, but it’s an interesting possibility (and annoyance) thanks to JPN vagueness.

      2) Pg. 16 [HIDDEN GEM] = *Kakushi Tama using the same “tama” in Tamakoma. Is Hyuse making puns damn the moe is strong. May also be translated as “balls” though it’s 2am and I have no shame laughing at “Hidden Balls”.

OK, can we assume the expedition will reach the closest allied neighbor? And is miden still allied with those 3??
KONAMI-CHWAANNNNN just reached the most favorite WT character on my list <3
mwahahah, grasshopper annihilation indeed. I like this panel.
    STRATEGY time next week!

There are missing pages in the mangamint version. Read on batoto.

        really? goddamn

        • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 9:19 am #

He added them now. I mean is that admin dude for real? Our admin on MS might be a more competent guy. Outdated manga covers, leeching from batoto and shamelessly adding a mangamint watermark, not adding the entire chapter, incompetent mods in the chat room. The list can go on and on and on.

  6. Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 8:43 am #

The guy beside Shinoda is DEFINITELY Soichi Mogami. Jin inherited the glasses from him. When I heard that he died 5 years ago (which was before the invasion) I expected him to be an old man. But turns out they were killed in battle. More Black Triggers incoming? Brilliant strategy by Ashihara to help Miden match Afto’s Black Trigger count? What do you guys think?

    • Law of Ueki - October 22, 2016 at 9:00 am #

I can see miden have at least 5 BT.

      • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 9:11 am #

We know they have at least 3. Jin, Yuma and Amo. How did you get 5? Is it a prediction?

        • Law of Ueki - October 22, 2016 at 9:14 am #

yeah, prediction. At least 5 btw, I actually expect more. Of 9 deaths, maybe 6 or 7.

  7. ThePiece - October 22, 2016 at 11:33 am #

Just read the chapter, enjoyed it.
Kido’s character reveal surprised me a lot, how he changed over the years from a happy person to a ruthless one.

So, guys what do you think, what are the chances of T2 winning the next rank war battle?
With the inclusion of Hyuse in the T2 squad, T2 surely has a huge boost but with disobedient nature of Hyuse, he could most certainly be the first one to get defeat in the rank war, leaving T2 in a precarious situation.

    • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 12:49 pm #

The explanation given thus far kinda explains the change in his character with certain links missing. He and his beloved friends dealt with the neighbours in good faith. I’m guessing some incident where, maybe a nation didn’t come to help happened or maybe just because of the fact that his friends became collateral damage in a war that didn’t involve Earth at all made him change his stance. He isn’t really ruthless per se but is kinda strict with issues dealing with neighbours. He went so far as to disregarding the fact that Yuma was Yugo’s son and decided to send Amo after him.

Okay so regarding the points, here’s the deal. Nino is at 37, Kage at 34 and T-2 at 30. Kage has been scoring at an average of > 3 points per round. Assuming the same, T-2 has to score north of 6-7 points in the next two games combined to overtake Kage. If the fuck up this time and score just 1-2 it automatically means that Kage has scored more than 3 points in this round which makes their target much more than 6-7 points in the next and final round and close to impossible. So I believe that there will be a mini fuck up and yet Kage won’t be allowed to score a lot. Hyuse will put T-2 in a dire situation and with teamwork they will be able to trounce Kage in the final round due to points.

Either T-2 win the next battle and have a close one in the final round or they lose this battle small and win big in the final round.

      • ThePiece - October 23, 2016 at 3:58 pm #

You made a very good point with “Either T-2 win the next battle and have a close one in the final round or they lose this battle small and win big in the final round”, but it just doesn’t feel right, T2 beating such a highly skilled squad.

Hey Tomo, make this clear for me.
According to the manga. does Osamu have any possibility of increasing his trion? Like can his trion gland with age progression produce more trion or is he at his prime at the moment and their is no room for any improvement with trion capacity?

        • Komori Ningen - October 23, 2016 at 10:13 pm #

Osamu’s trion is definitely growing bigger but at a steady rate.
Meaning he won’t probably be Midorikawa level but it could reach current Kitora level
Each year, in the yearly cover; you can see his trion cube getting bigger

        • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 5:59 am #

Pretty much what Komori stated. Osamu is 14 so he has quite a few years before his Trion Gland stops developing. Even Kitora who apparently had Osamu’s level of Trion managed to increase hers and bring it to the average level. So while an improvement is possible, I wouldn’t expect it to be too drastic.

          Osamu’s current Trion is 2. Kitora’s is 4. Midorikawa’s 5. Kako’s is 9 and Ninomiya’s is 14. So Osamu might become a 4-6 in the future is my guess.

        • ThePiece - October 24, 2016 at 6:28 am #

Oh, thanx guys, you have made it pretty clear.
What is trion lvl for Chika and Yuma??

        • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 6:33 am #

Chika is 38 and Yuma is 7.

        • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 6:36 am #

For comparison’s sake, Imma give three more stats. Jin without his Black Trigger is 7 and when equipped with Fujin his Trion is 37. Viza’s Trion is 58 (Highest in the series so far) and he doesn’t even have Horns.

        • ThePiece - October 24, 2016 at 10:08 am #

WOW, thanx, very informative. Make you wonder what can Chika do if she were a lil bit more skilled.
With the facts you have given, its quite clear, Yuma being able to stop Viza is a feat that’s hard to match. Maybe we will get to see him using his black trigger again during the expedition. Hyped hyped hyped

        • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 10:14 am #

Yuma was clearly weaker than Viza. Yuma lost his limbs and had to use a surprise tactic to land a hit on Viza (whose mobility was restricted due to Reiji’s attack). It’s a one off incident. If both contestants start off with full knowledge regarding the other then Viza wins easily. Viza too OP right now.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. Yuma’s Trion is 7 with his normal trigger. With his BT his stats are unknown although it is assumed that all his stats would be significantly boosted. Chika is OP. Hyrein, Enedora etc. had Trion stats similar to her. And they were BT wielders with horns too.

  8. Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 12:54 pm #

Do you think that this Mato person who was introduced in the chapter will have a significant role in the future? Will T-2 have a need to find her? She has been said to have retired to civilian life. Could she be one of the civilian co-conspirators along with Hatohara and Rinji who helped (and maybe accompanied) them to the Neighbourhood?

    • Hi Shin Unit - October 22, 2016 at 1:11 pm #

I think she will definitely be involved in the story someway or another. I don’t think she was introduced for no apparent reason. I am interested to see what her reason is for quitting Border. I think there is more to it than simply wanting to lead a normal life.

      • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 3:07 pm #

Well, she was mentioned along with the other people who were alive so maybe there’s no real significance and we’re just reading between the lines. We’ve heard that plenty of agents left Border after the recent invasion. So she could’ve left because of similar reasons.

        • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 3:11 pm #

Notice how I’m using only probabilistic words. It is equally likely that she has some real significance and also that she doesn’t.

    • LogicoftheVI - October 22, 2016 at 2:55 pm #

I definitely think she was introduced for a purpose. If not she could have been blacked out like the other members who died and didn’t have their names mentioned. What will her role be if she does come back? Will she join a team or be part of the executive branch of border? What was her reason for quitting? Many good questions just from this one character introduction.

      • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 3:11 pm #

The blacked out agents were all dead and she’s supposedly alive which is why she wasn’t blacked out. The questions is whether she will come back. She looks like an operator and could’ve assisted Hatohara and Rinji in going to the Neighbourhood. Her reasons could be some covert operation like this but it could also be for normal reasons like fear etc.

But the one thing that’s holding this theory back is that she either quit Border 4.5-5 years ago and Rinji’s plan was executed one year ago. So if this is true, was she looking for agents to put her plan into motion for 3 years? This seems to be one of the more interesting and mysterious characters in the series.

  9. LogicoftheVI - October 22, 2016 at 2:59 pm #

Really good chapter I thoroughly enjoyed the exposition and learning about he history of Border. It’s interesting to see how the battle that lost 10 of their members changed them and so many things related to border. Before that incident it would seem that Kido was Ok with having Neighbors as friends. It really makes you wonder what happened during that battle that caused him and others to change their way of thinking? It’s nice that we got information on what Border was before the main branch/HQ came to be. I want to know more about the guy that died and the black trigger that was formed. Was it formed before he died or was it a product of his death? More training incoming. Osamu and the others should get another little power up for the next battle since they cannot afford to lose. Very enjoyable chapter I think I have to call it a great one.

    • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 3:19 pm #

I’m guessing some incident where, maybe a nation didn’t come to help happened or maybe just because of the fact that his friends became collateral damage in a war that didn’t involve Earth at all made him change his stance or because he needed more people and without a populist agenda after an attack where hundreds were killed, it could’ve been impossible to build an army.

From what we know, people who help in creating BTs pour all their trion into creating a trigger (method unknown) and die because they’ve exhausted all their trion. So with the information we have right now, they sacrificed themselves to create Black Triggers and help win the battle.

Next battle is a really complicated scenario. I could type so many things that could happen and it can take up the entire page. The thing is that it’s all extremely relative. They need to score points while also suppressing Kage simultaneously. If both Kage and T-2 score high points in this battle, it’s pretty much a waste. Moreover Hyuse said he won’t be obeying all the orders. Huge flag for a fuck up. Either way they’ve to score at least 7 points in both battles given Kage’s average points per battle thus far. Since catching up to Nino is pretty much impossible, they have use every strategy in their arsenal to prevent Kage from scoring points in this match.

      • LogicoftheVI - October 22, 2016 at 3:27 pm #

“I’m guessing some incident where, maybe a nation didn’t come to help happened or maybe just because of the fact that his friends became collateral damage in a war that didn’t involve Earth at all made him change his stance or because he needed more people and without a populist agenda after an attack where hundreds were killed, it could’ve been impossible to build an army.” I like the idea of another nation who was supposed to help didn’t. I was thinking that maybe they were betrayed by a supposed friendly nation. Those are the two strongest possibilities I can come up with given how much Kido and his branch seem to dislike Neighbors.

“From what we know, people who help in creating BTs pour all their trion into creating a trigger (method unknown) and die because they’ve exhausted all their trion. So with the information we have right now, they sacrificed themselves to create Black Triggers and help win the battle.” I am guessing that Kuga’s father is the first time we are introduced to the way a black trigger is formed. It makes sense now the question is does it have to be a choice the persona makes like Kuga’s father or can just pushing yourself to the limit also create one?

“Next battle is a really complicated scenario. I could type so many things that could happen and it can take up the entire page. The thing is that it’s all extremely relative. They need to score points while also suppressing Kage simultaneously. If both Kage and T-2 score high points in this battle, it’s pretty much a waste. Since catching up to Nino is pretty much impossible, they have use every strategy in their arsenal to prevent Kage from scoring points in this match.” The next three battles are major and if they are going to have a hiccup in any of them this would be the one. I don’t know if they could overcome Kage if they allow his squad to gain too many point so suppressing them is going to be major. I see the thing about Hyuse not following orders as a good and bad thing. He doesn’t know how the Border agents fight as well as the others but he has the most battle experience out of the squad (and possibly more than some of the A-Rank members). He has been watching the matches so I don’t see him being a liability I see his experience coming into play in a very good way for Team T-2.

      • Vision - October 22, 2016 at 3:33 pm #

I think there’s more to personal choice or push urself to the limit to create a BT. Otherwise it’ll be an asspull as anyone who has a big enough trion gland can do it. I think there’s a hidden method or some other requirements.

        • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 3:43 pm #

Yep. Lol it was answered by the author. Even for users with high trion it takes a bit of luck to create BTs. But the important thing to notice is that he emphasises on “High Trion” so trion content could be a major factor here. If Osamu tries to create a BT, he’ll simply die and there won’t be any BT. He also says that Side Effects increase chance of creation of BT. SE bearers are rare and so it can be said that BTs are rare.

      • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 3:40 pm #

“Being betrayed by a friendly nation” If that were the case, then I don’t think Tamakoma would see Neighbours in a positive light too. The case that I see the most is the fact that 10 of his colleagues had to die in a war in a country that was fighting against a third and unrelated country. Could change a person for the worse.

“can just pushing yourself to the limit also create one?” Answered by the author in the databook. **Even for superior (Trion) users luck is involved a little in whether they can leave behind a Black Trigger or not (so there aren’t many people willing to become Black Triggers voluntarily), but it is said that if it’s people with Side Effects creating Black Triggers the success rate rises quite a lot.** So I’m assuming that people just die if they try to unsuccessfully create a Black Trigger. Damn!

There are only two battles. The upcoming one and the one after that for T-2 to become B-2 or above as the deadline set by Kido was 3 matches from the date of negotiation. Round-6 against Ikoma and Oji was the first. Also regarding battle experience, I have to disagree. While it’s partially unknown how much battle experience each had, it is likely that Yuma has more experience since he has been traveling/fighting with his dad for years (Since he was 6-7?) He fought in a war for three years after his dad died and also for some time before it. Hyuse was seen invading Galopula with Lambiris which means his known experience is ≤ 2 years. Regarding the match up I think I will elaborate on that a bit later.

    • Komori Ningen - October 24, 2016 at 7:17 am #

It’s so awesome to have you caught up.
Indeed it was a great chapter, using a photo to tell old border’s story without using unnecessary flashbacks is brilliant.
That picture is enough to talk volume about the characters even those who died

We got to see Kazama’s brother and apparently they share the. Same cold personality

Mogami looks like a Jin wannabe, which means that jin was looking up to him so much so he borrowed his style

There was a miwa in their team: the dude next to Jin with messy dark hair

Reiji’s true hair colour is black and he wasn’t working out back then… Did I mention he is blushing in the pic ? This perv has been wanting Yuri for a while, he might a virgin (no wonder he’s so talented)

Konami had a crush on Rindo ? She probably took him as a father figure or something

Kido was the. Happiest person in the photo, he looks kind and proud of his team-mates.

  10. Vision - October 22, 2016 at 3:25 pm #

After I read tomo’s post up there, I think yeah, Kido changed his view regarding neighbors because those allies didn’t come to aid them when the big invasion occurred. He hated them for it. While I like the idea of Mato’s hidden agenda, I don’t mind seeing her live a normal life as a civilian just like she supposed to. IF those neighbors really betrayed the alliance, I guess it’ll be hard for border, especially kido to build a new alliance, IF he agree to make an alliance, I guess we’ll see his perfect strategy to make the alliance as Miden’s puppet. I like it.

    • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 3:48 pm #

      > I don’t mind seeing her live a normal life

Exactly my point. There’s an equal chance of her digging up information on the Neighbourhood (Like Misora in Death note) or she could also lead a commoner life.

Border’s military might is really good relatively. We’ve only seen two countries that would wreck us in a battle (Kion and Afto) Any other nation would fear the 3 Black Triggers that we have. Hell and there are more to be retrieved. So Border is one of the strongest in the entire Neighbourhood (the ones we know thus far)

      • Vision - October 22, 2016 at 3:52 pm #

Yeah, miden will be the leader of the alliance. The neighborhood will be shocked when miden break through the dimensional boundary n reach the neighbors.

        • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 3:54 pm #

In fact all the away missions so far have been covert ones with extremely minor conflicts. Imagine openly declaring war. That moment’s gonna be badass.

        • Vision - October 22, 2016 at 3:59 pm #

Well, if afto or other nations won’t leave miden alone n keep kidnapping, kido will surely retaliate. Heck, miden might even declare war because many of the kidnapped kids were dried to death..

        • Vision - October 22, 2016 at 4:07 pm #

          N this is 151

        • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 6:00 pm #

I’m thinking that he probably has some other true objective and he’s cunningly executing it under the garb of rescuing the people who were kidnapped. This way no one can complain and he’s still meeting his objective. Cunning ass nigga!

  11. Vision - October 22, 2016 at 4:00 pm #

Miden’s declaration of war might be >= ussop’s burnt wg flag.

    • Tomodachi - October 22, 2016 at 5:50 pm #

If they do it like that. It would be poetic justice if they infiltrate an organisation and whittle it away from the inside (probbaly just like another Neighbour nation betrayed Miden).

  12. Great General Ri Shin - October 22, 2016 at 6:23 pm #

Let take a moment that Reiji still had that crush on Yuri way back then. :3

Now I wonder how strong is Kido and does he have a black trigger?
So I suppose his reason of hating the neighbor is justifiable, they killed his comrades in a large scale battle.

    • Tomodachi - October 23, 2016 at 4:17 am #

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Kido has a BT. After all, when Shinoda was introduced he was introduced as the strongest man in Border with a normal trigger. There might be more to him hating Neighbours imo. Like some underhanded tactic or betrayal because if not he should hate the neighbours that caused his friends’ death but he hates them all (assuming even the friendly ones) so I think there’s more to it.

Why do you think Kuga and Kage are becoming good friends ?

I think it’s partly thanks to Kage’s SE
He is able to sense ill intent directed towards him right ?
And apparently he feels pain whenever it occurs hence he’s always annoyed by people.
I think he senses no ill intent from Yuma, after all yuma does not see anybody in Border as an enemy and like Osamu, he does not hold grudges and has fun fighting strong opponents.

I think Kage sensed Yuma’s friendliness, that’s why he enjoys fighting him

    • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 6:42 am #

Yeah. I agree on this. In a way Kage’s and Yuma’s SEs are similar. Kage can sense if someone is thinking about him (and in turn detect ill intentions) and Yuma can sense if someone is lying to him. So both SE require the other person to be very straightforward which is why they get along so well. Yuma doesn’t lie and is usually very friendly, so Kage is kinda comfortable with Yuma around him, I guess.

Both their introductions were very similar too. Yuma beat up those shit talking and lying bullies in his class and Kage sliced the C-Rank agents who were insulting him behind his back.

        • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 10:59 am #

Almost. Two of the most compatible people in all of Border.

    • LogicoftheVI - October 24, 2016 at 3:56 pm #

“Why do you think Kuga and Kage are becoming good friends?” As Tomo said I also think it has to do with their side effects but also their personalities. They both come across as guys who draw a lot of attention towards themselves. So the way they view eachother probably has something to do with it as well since they can pretty much sense if the other is genuine or not. Also they really wanted to battle one another and didn’t really get a chance due to everyone else getting involved. Other than those few reasons I can’t really come up with anything good.

      • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 4:17 pm #

Yeah. That’s pretty much on point. Their Side Effects require other people to be straightforward with them so it’s almost like they mirror how they would like other people to behave with them. So in essence their personalities have been moulded by their Side Effects and since the requirements of both SEs are pretty much similar, they’re ‘compatible’ (for lack of a better word) with each other.

  16. ThePiece - October 24, 2016 at 6:50 am #

My theory regarding Kido’s such drastic change in attitude towards Neighbor goes something like this:
“5 years back, one of the allies got attacked, it asked Miden for help and Border went their to help them. But, it was a trap set by a single person or a small group of people, with whom Kido had a very close relation. Seeing such a betrayal from a close friend or maybe even a lover Kido’s attitude changed from a happy, joyful person to a dark, ruthless figure.”
Now, i have theorized that betrayal came from a close person or an lover and not from the nation itself because of two reasons:
1 The difference among the group of people that wanted to change the policy after the incident that happened five years back. We can clearly see that even though all the senior member at HQ are anti Neighbor(they don’t want Neighbor to come into their world), they are way more lenient towards neighbors that do cross over but Kido he doesn’t care if its a friendly neighbor or an enemy neighbor, for him if some one cross over its direct capture and jail.
    2 Tamakoma badge
If the incident that happened five years back was indeed a set up by an allied nation. I am certain that even though Tamakoma have friendlier feeling towards neighbor, they would still have changed their badge to remove the traitor nation but they haven’t done that so it could be like I said a trap set up by few people that Kido had a close relation with!
Just a thought, what do you think?

    • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 10:27 am #

But why do you think Kido would hate them all just because of the actions of a few? I believe that the issue is on a bigger scale than just a few individuals. Tamakoma still believes that there are friendly neighbours because of the existence of people like Kronin and Yuma.

For all we know his hostility might be driven by the fact that his friends were killed in an event that Earth had nothing to do with in the first place. So it can vary from being as simple as that to as complex as a betrayal and sabotage.

      • ThePiece - October 25, 2016 at 6:37 am #

Well, people react differently to same situation and I believe Kido did just that, a person who was close to him betrayed him which resulted in people he cared about dying unnecessarily. For me this seems only plausible explanation to the sudden and drastic character change with in Kido.

        • Komori Ningen - October 25, 2016 at 6:48 am #

He was willing to kill off his friend’s son to take his bt
That’s cold, especially for someone who used to be in friendly terms with everyone in Border

        • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 8:26 am #

I’m not disputing your predictions. After all, it’s a prediction. It’s supposed to be speculative. All I did was ask why you think so.

Kido has shown that he cares more about his people than he hates Neighbours. I think that there’s something with the BTs created by his ex-colleagues that makes him so ruthless regarding Yuma’s BT.

Old Border members created BTs and they allowed the ally to keep them for safety and when Border was attacker they wouldn’t have come to aid. Loss of resources and lives and even quite a few BTs.

  17. Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 10:58 am #

Chippo’s version just came out and while the translation isn’t very different, here is an T/N from her version:

When Yuri says they weren’t able to come up with the correct method, the adjective here is ‘tadashii’, which besides meaning right or correct also contains the connotations of ‘proper; righteous; just; honest; truthful; lawful’. So that’s something to keep in mind re: Yuri’s words about Tamakoma not having a ‘more proper/righteous/correct way’ than Kido.

One interesting theory she has proposed is that Kido’s true objective might be the same as Yuma’s i.e. resurrection of the people who sacrificed themselves for the creation of the Black Triggers.

    • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 11:00 am #

Also, Viz version will be out any time now.

    • Vision - October 24, 2016 at 11:00 am #

      Isn’t tadashii means “but”

      • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 11:03 am #

Lol You know about how much I suck at Japanese. I just copied this from her site and pasted it here.

  19. Kouhei - October 24, 2016 at 2:46 pm #

Amazed once again! This plot is so freaking awesome! You guys already said everything, so I’ll just add somethings:

1 – Yuri says that 10 people died a bit before the conflict of 5 years ago. I don’t know what you think of this, but this pretty much says that the conflict’s main reason is the death of those 10 people.

2 – As stupid as it seems, I’ve never thought of Border as a actual border / frontier Lol. I think that’s very interesting. Considering that Yugo were a neighbour, that he is not on the picture and that he is the senior of Shinoda and Kido, maybe he is the one responsible for trigger tech on Midden.

3 – Kido’s grudge towards neighbours can’t be just because Midden was betrayed. There’s more into it, personal stuff.

4 – Even though Kido has created Border, he still allows branches to participate. Tamakoma wants to keep the relationship with neighbours, and he has a different opinion. Yet, they still work together when it comes to Midden’s protection. That makes me wonder, what’s the position of the other branches (Suzunari, Wataayu, Yumite District, Hayanuma and Hisama)? Are they in favor or against neighbours? Do they answer to Border or are they independent like Tamakoma? Who are the Branch’s Chiefs? Are they on the picture? Too many questions…

5 – Mado was not showed for nothing. I have a feeling that she is related to Hatohara and Rinji. But I’m pretty confident that she will give important information on the future.

6 – 3 worlds, former allies of Midden. I wanna know if Tamakoma still has contact with them, and if the alliance is still on even without Midden. Thinking now, Kronin, Kuga and Hyuse are foreshadows of Tamakoma’s relationship with neighbours.

Overall, a great chapter. 8/10. Sometimes it’s needed to take a break from action and strategy, and those informative chapters are extremely important. My prediction for 163 is that Osamu will let this Border story for latter, and the chapter will be all about explanations, strategies and the good relationship between the teams. For a good pace, I hope that 163 ends with the beggining of the next round.

    • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 3:09 pm #

2- The naming of Border is ingenious. Also Yugo wasn’t a neighbour. Yuma said that Japan was his dad’s homeland. So we still don’t know if these guys were approached by another nation or they started out first. Either way it’s a mystery.

4- Q.205 from BBF. “Aside from Tamakoma Branch all Branch Chiefs are normal employees that are responsible for overseeing local window missions, and they don’t have Trion abilities. Due to Branch Chief Rindo being an early agent of Border he was called upon to go to the officer conference.” So no, they aren’t given any special privileges. Moreover it’s clear that they were recruited after HQ’s operation commenced. Even Tamakoma isn’t independent. Kido is still Rindo’s superior and they’re still HQ’s subordinates. No they aren’t in the picture. The answer from Ashihara makes that clear.

6- I wonder if those planets even exist. They seem like weak ass planets. But maybe they have one of Miden’s BTs but either way it doesn’t seem like they’re in contact because they didn’t come to rescue Miden when Afto invaded.

I think the squads are gonna get transferred to the battle stage in Ch. 164 (or at max 165). So we’re gonna see some basic battles next time and some strategy. Ch. 164 we see more strategy and the transmission. With all the action, it’s almost like people have forgotten about the premise of this story lol It demands exposition. I mean Osamu is definitely gonna leave that shit behind now. Konami snatched that photo away from him. Chika and Yuma left for practice. Things are moving forward.

      • Kouhei - October 24, 2016 at 3:20 pm #

I always thought Yugo was a neighbour, and lame WT wikia says so. Tks for explaining about the branches.

6 – I wanted to say that Tamakoma can be in touch with the neighbours but definetely there’s no more alliance or any kind of compromise between Midden and the other worlds. Kronin probably is from one of those 3 worlds. And maybe Tamakoma’s exclusive triggers are from there. That’s why I think there’s a possibility.

And about the expeditions, if there’s no alliance, I wonder where Midden ships go to.

I can’t wait for the next round.

        • Tomodachi - October 24, 2016 at 3:27 pm #

WT wiki is extremely unreliable. It’s always better to look up the relevant chapters in the manga rather than wiki.

Even I believe Kronin is from one of the three nations and moved to Border before the fall out but after the photograph. Tamakoma’s exclusive triggers were said to be developed by Tamakoma engineers. So I believe they analysed prototypes and developed their own. We do not yet know where the Miden ships go to but we do know that the first time we were shown the away squad they returned from Menoeiedes. It has been stated in BBF that the away squads either barter triggers or manage to salvage some while the neighbour countries are in conflict. Next round gonna be lit. I’m curious about the scores of Kage and Ko against Yuma too.

    • LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 1:45 pm #

      1. I didn’t even think about this but you may just be onto something. The fact that Miden helped another Nation int eh Neighborhood may have caused bad blood between them and another Nation. Or maybe it’s when the other Nations realized that Mided could provide them with strong Trion users?

      3. Being betrayed is a definite possibility but I doubt it considering that Tamakoma is still friendly with Neighbors. This leads me to believe that Kido’s hatred for Neightbors is something more personal (though I could be wrong).

      5. Anyway it goes I do feel this character will play a bigger role. Maybe she knows something about the mission with Chika’s brother? Maybe she will join back up with Border? There are plenty of ways this could go I cannot even put them all into words.

      6. I would think that considering the one guy is a Neighbor pretending to be from Canada that Miden (Tamakoma) should have at least one of those allies left.

      • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 4:36 pm #

His 1st point branches out so much. If it’s regarding the deaths of the people, is it regarding their deaths or the BT they left behind? That itself is a profound question imo.

        6. We don’t know when Kronin joined. If it was after the photo but before the next war/invasion it’s justified. But seeing how Kido allowed Yuma and Hyuse, I think it’s quite apparent that he thinks they ain’t no big deal and can be handled easily. And also that he thinks the upsides are possibly worth the risk they come with.

I got permanent access to all the chapters now.
Thank you very much bro. Gonna start soon and probably add my two cents in this section.

    • Komori Ningen - October 25, 2016 at 6:33 am #

Welcome to the WT community… I’m looking forward to your. Comments.
Just a word of advice when starting, as a Bleach fan you’ll probably be annoyed at some similarities, the first chapters share…
The pacing from the first chapters might throw you off and you might be annoyed by the main characters “blandness” at first.
Please don’t give it up until the first 20 chapters, it’s a. Manga that gradually sets itself apart from others by the chapters.
Once it starts getting good, it only gets better up until this very chapter

      • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 8:27 am #

I think we should just have these stickied in some way rather than have to type this every time someone new starts reading WT lol

        • Komori Ningen - October 25, 2016 at 4:16 pm #

          Lol you’re right.
I’m happy to have this series get some kind of recognition.
After all the author deserves it.

He’s working his hardest against an industry that has already set up the rules.

His manga doesn’t have over the top characters, over the top comedy, random power ups, boobs, oppai, forced rivalry, non realistic goals.

        • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 4:28 pm #

Yeah. Quite many people have begun reading this series even on this site. The inclusion of a WT section probably did the trick.

And you’re right about the author. It’s almost like he’s going against a huge establishment and is being successful at it. Very few/subtle features of Shonen and yet is being published in arguably the biggest Shonen magazine in Japan and is a consistent mid-ranked series too. Takes something unique to achieve that.

Why is it that you don’t read Kingdom?

      • Vision - October 25, 2016 at 12:11 pm #

        I read 50 chapters n dropped it.
        1. It’s like a history lesson for me. If I wanna know about particular dynasty, wikipedia is my media.
        2. The story weren’t that great in those 50 chapters.
        3. I hate Japanese pronouncing of Chinese names. Kanki? Shin? Wtf? They’re Chinese! Not korean, not Japanese.

        • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 12:32 pm #

It’s not particularly a history lesson as there’s plenty of good stuff coming right up. There’s war, there’s espionage, there’s blood there are plenty of good things.

Story gets too fucking complex later. Earlier it’s about Shin and his attempts at survival. Later it becomes a full on political-war action drama.

Kan ki man. I mean Huan Ji is not as badass sounding as Kan Ki :P

If you stopped reading because the story wasn’t good or anything, I recommend you pick it right back up. If the other reasons held more weight when you dropped it, maybe you should maintain Status Quo.

        • Vision - October 25, 2016 at 2:55 pm #

          4. Busy..
          5. I don’t think I’ll continue to read kingdom, I will find more excuses, lol. It’s ok tho, I skipped a lot of awesome manga. The promised neverland, kingdom, dropped opm, didn’t continue with mob psycho, bLLLLeach (thank god), didn’t finish rave master (hiro mashima’s masterpiece when he still innocent n not a perverted hentai manga author wannabe), etc

        • LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 2:59 pm #

@Vision “5. I don’t think I’ll continue to read kingdom, I will find more excuses, lol.” I am dying over here at least you are honest….lol.

The Promised Neverland is only 12 chapters right now you can knock that out quickly if you wanted to.

        • Vision - October 25, 2016 at 3:04 pm #

I’ve peeked a glimpse of tpn, the art is… um.. chibi like.. maybe someday. But again, never trust me, I haven’t read nobleese n tog as I once told u guys I would.

        • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 3:53 pm #

That line legit the funniest excuse I’ve seen this month Lmao

Regarding TPN: Usually the first arc of a manga is of extremely high quality (exceptions exist) because the mangaka has thought of the details through and through. So depending on how this turns out after 50-60 chapters, I might pick it up. Tbh I’m not really impressed with its art. It’s neither vanilla nor exotic. It just feels weird.

I’ve dropped OPM too and many other manga. And fuck these so-called masterpieces. Man, I gave Berserk a try and.. just.. Idk I couldn’t get into it. And the quality of scans. Dropped it in an instant and ain’t picking it up again. I’ll come up with excuses lol. Oh and the mods at mangamint chatrooom.. edgelords just wanna hate mainstream and read some unknown cult ass shit mangas and berate the big ones. Like they claim OP and Boku no hero are shit 3edgy5me bro.. fuckin’ nerd ass otakus

        • LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 3:55 pm #

@Vison I wasn’t a fan of the art at first either…but seeing people talk about it made me give it a try I think there were like 5 or 7 chapters out when I first read it, but chapter 1 is the hook.

        • LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 3:59 pm #

@Tomodachi I like berserk but I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece at least not to where I am (somewhere around 60-70 chapters in). I really enjoy OnePunch-Man but it certainly isn’t a masterpiece (especially with those releases) though I did give it a 10 for the art (murata version) and my personal enjoyment of the series.

If you haven’t read Gamaran you may find that enjoyable.

        • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 4:02 pm #

I hate series with irregular releases. The scanlation groups pull that shit often but here we have an author that doesn’t give a shit. Like dude the manga started in the 80s and it’s still running and we have around 300 chapters? The fuck man.. Same with HxH and same with OPM etc. Irregular release = I’m not touching it.

        • LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 4:08 pm #

-OPM I give a pass to because it’s really just a Hobby for ONE (pun intended)…lol. I am sure he wasn’t expecting it to blow up and now he has two hot series going at the same time. I really enjoy Mob Psycho and like the amount of effort that ONE puts into it. I must say he is really one of my favorite mangaka.
-HxH I don’t know what to say the man know he has gold and puts out 10 chapters a year.
-Berserk I cannot complain too since I am not caught up with the series. It’s definitely different and touches on some very mature themes but i’m not sure it’s living up to the hype. It’s not failing at it miserably like NnT but I am hoping it gets better when they finish the rescue of Griffith.

        • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 4:30 pm #

OPM I really can’t blame the guy. He’s doing a good job with Mob Psycho which is being published and he does a decent enough job with OPM. But fuck the others man.. especially that HxH dude. But WSJ knows that he rakes in the dough, so they give him free will.

  22. LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 1:35 pm #

How far from the Neighborhood Expedition arc do you think we are?

    • Hi Shin Unit - October 25, 2016 at 1:43 pm #

I doubt we are too far away. We are in the final stretch of the rank wars. Once that finishes the Neighborhood Expedition arc is a go, although, before that we may get a small arc showing Borders preparations for the expedition. It is all a matter of how many chapters will be dedicated to the remaining ranks wars.

…but, I sure am looking forward to the Neighborhood Expedition. It is going to be EPIC!

      • LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 1:47 pm #

I wouldn’t mind a small arc to show their preparations and possibly and induction ceremony into the A-Rank for Osamu’s group. Definitely need more conversation between Hyuse and the Border leaders. I want to see some planning before they just head out on this mission.

        • Hi Shin Unit - October 25, 2016 at 1:53 pm #

I would too. It would be odd for them to jump straight from the ranks wars to the expedition arc.

        • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 1:58 pm #

Like Kido said Osamu’s group won’t even make it to A-Rank before the expedition. It’s quite clear that they’re going to go on the expedition as a B-Rank team.

Strategising has been one of the key points of this manga. I doubt they’re gonna skip that outright.

As HSU said, it would be odd to move abruptly from the Rank Wars to the expedition. So there’s going to be a selection exam and a bit of training before they go to the expedition. And to further address his point, I believe the remaining rank wars will take up 10-13 chapters going by the average lengths thus far with buffer chapters similar to 161 and 162 every now and then.

    • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 1:55 pm #

Current date in manga = Feb. 23rd
End of Rank War season = April end
Deadline fixed by Kido for T-2 to become B-2 or above = Mar. 5th

      1) So we have two more rounds in the rank war. That’s 10-14 chapters.

Galopula moves out of Near Earth Orbit after on or after Mar. 14th. So we might have a second attempt at invasion.

Then there’s going to be a selection exam for the Expedition Squad. Kido has mentioned that he wants the training session this year longer than usual because it’s a big expedition.

I bet the training will be shown in a pretty concise manner to give us an idea of the optional Triggers of the A-Rank agents but that’s it. I don’t think he’s gonna drag it a lot longer than 35 chapters or so. That also brings us to the 4th year of serialisation and close to Ch.200 Pretty good time to start one of the biggest arcs in the series.

    • LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 4:01 pm #

@Tomodachi I could see the expedition starting just before the 200th chapter so that when we hit 200 the author can give us something special in the Neighbor world. I wouldn’t be surprised if the last two matches took between 10-15 chapters either followed by a small arc or two before we actually start the expedition arc.

      • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 4:32 pm #

I don’t know how “small” the training arc is gonna be lol. Kido said that the training’s gonna be longer than usual. Of course that’s in the manga. I’m hoping it ain’t even half as long as the Rank Wars.

        • LogicoftheVI - October 25, 2016 at 5:28 pm #

Though I have really enjoyed the training we have seen to this point I would much rather focus on the stratedgy they hope to employ during the invasion rather than training itself. Hopefully the author can make the training, strategy based, and he can kill two birds with one stone. Giving us an explanation of their strategy for war while showing us this extended training could actually pay dividends if handled correctly.

  23. Vision - October 25, 2016 at 4:48 pm #

Would love to see those old geezers in action. Kido, kronin, rindo, etc. Good thing yuri is still young n konami is still a teenager. So, no old hag in border, good.

    • Tomodachi - October 25, 2016 at 4:54 pm #

Particularly interested in the few badass looking members of old Border. I especially wanna see Rindo more than Shinoda. Dude is supposedly a shooter with stats more than even Ninomiya. Gonna be epic when he casually blows up a huge area with his full attack Hound.

Oldest known woman in Border is 24 years old. Even the older woman (like Mikumo’s mom) look like college chicks.

      • Bwahahaha - October 26, 2016 at 3:00 am #

That is true. And the Old Border girl who resigned to be a normal civilian really looks like Mikumo’s mom. I am more fascinated than Rindo as well. Those with laidback personality are some of the awesome character in manga in general.

  24. God of this Site - October 28, 2016 at 6:12 pm #

    The story plot is intresting.
2 worlds. We didn’t see how the normal world looks like. Still hyped to see the planets in neightbour galaxy.
A lot of Triggers (which we dont know yet ,more side effects incoming, the functions in team remind me somehow to Overwatch and Paladins
The divisions, ranked teams and the classes look like a futuristic game xD
You want to read more and more. You are left with many unanswered questions but the author is moving forward giving us more answers with upcoming chapters.

The main characters in the serie are the bomb.

    Kuga- smart AF and skilled
4 eyez- goofy ( kinda reminds me of the older
