ONEPIECE Ch. 857 Rook
Chopper and the others call out to Luffy and Sanji from the mirror world.
Sanji is surprised to hear their voice from a nearby dropped mirror.
Luffy and Chopper confirm each other’s situation.
Luffy tells them that they’re gonna crash the tea party and wedding ceremony.

Jinbei tells them that the ministers met so far are the tip of the iceberg of the Big Mom pirates and those veterans will be attending the tea party.
And they will also have to take into account the lords of the underworld that were invited from many countries.

Jinbe then starts to talk about Bege’s true colors.
In the West Blue, there were 5 strong mafia that controlled the underworld society.
One of the bosses was Bege, and he was a cruel man who enjoyed cutting the heads off of animals and watching them squirm.
Back in his gang days, he targeted the other bosses, but he was only interested in taking their heads, not showing any interest in area or territory.
He reveled in the bloody war for supremacy.
On top of that, he killed his would be avengers from his iron castle and laughed at their regret.
Still being chased in the seas by those seeking revenge, Bege found a good cover as a Yonko’s subordinate.ç

After buying his honed cautiousness and defensive strength, he was made a fighter “Rook” rank, and was entrusted with full authority in defense.
It appears that Bege is using is dull authority to take the head of Big Mom who is obsessed with killing the Vinsmoke and taking control of Germa.

Thinking that this is not the true to make them enemies as well, Jinbe proposes to Luffy and Sanji about making an alliance with Bege.
Luffy agrees with Jinbe’s proposal.
When Jinbe gets in contact with Bege again, it’s decided that they’re gonna go meet him right away.

Whole Cake Island Northwest Firetank Pirates Secret Base

Bege: “Jinbe isn’t the type of man to joke around. It’s a good argument to increase the number of people seeking to oppose Big Mom.”

There’s one more sentence by Bege at the end, but I’m not sure the right translation. Could change meaning drastically, so would rather leave than put wrong meaning for everyone.
sandman translate some partes that are confusing in the spoiler.

On top of that, Capone waits in his iron castle for avengers who hate Capone. Capone defeated the avengers and laughed at them who died in regret.

Capone is wondering how Luffy will react to him. Capone also says that he will meet and kill Luffy if Luffy turns out to be not a likable person for him.

One Piece 856 Spoiler Trivia: In keeping with the Vinsmoke Family’s naming convention, Rei (零) means “zero” in Japanese. This is a reference to Reiju’s position as the family’s first-born, but within a numbering system where “one” is assigned to the first-born son.

Madame Shirley prediction is one step close to becoming a reality. Notice a lot of people are wearing a SH because they see luffy as their countries hero. Ex. FI and Dresrosa. Some one is going to go to FI, blend in with the crowd by using a SH (possibly CPO) and destroy FI.

Good chapter for Nanatsu No Taizai.

I like the unity between the Tribes. The chapter explains part of why Lord Gloxinia and Lord Dolor joined The Ten Commandments, although it’s odd that Lord Meliodas sealed them with the other Ten Commandments knowing how good of friends they are. It’s also odd that we have yet to see the other Archangel. Either way the Tribe Wars are very interesting.

    I give this chapter a 6/10.

  3. Leptor - March 5, 2017 at 3:14 am #

A below average chapter for Fairy Tail.

I’m not a big fan of the characterization in the chapter. Also, the Rakheid scene seems relatively pointless. It seems like a scene that’s mainly meant to make us fans angry at Zeref but it just makes the writing seem silly. The Lord August vs. Gildarts match up is still interesting but they have yet to use anywhere near their full power. Plus, Lord August went from being an interesting character to being characterized like a robot.

    I give this chapter a 1.6/10 (rounding to 2/10).

So we saw The Wolverine 3 the other day, and it’s a very good if not great Movie in my opinion.

Wolverine is my favorite Comic Book character so any Movie that he’s in is automatically interesting to me. Hugh Jackman is also an amazing Wolverine. That being said, I do think that the Movie is somewhat overrated. There are a lot of great aspects of the Movie but like a lot of other X-Men Movies there are also some cons.

Several aspects of the Movie seem forced. With Patrick Stewart retiring as Professor Xavier and Hugh Jackman retiring as Wolverine, the Movie bases most of it on that. The plot is mostly driven by retiring those actors as those characters. In some ways they do great with that, but one of the main issues about that is how many storylines about Professor Xavier and Wolverine we still have yet to see. It seems like X-Men always skips multiple decades between Movies which not only seems pointless but skips so many of the X-Men storylines. The Movie also makes the timeline confusing again. Which timeline does that Movie fit into? Also, Professor Xavier and Wolverine will be in more X-Men Movies, so how does that work with that Movie?

The director of the Movie stated prior to making the Movie that he wanted to make a different type of X-Men Movie. So the different tone seems forced as well. Also, most of the difference in tone doesn’t even apply to the parts of the Movie that would make it seem less stale compared to other X-Men Movies. The plot still revolves a lot around the Mutants having issues and Humans vs. Mutants. Which is also somewhat of a con, how many X-Men Movies have to revolve a lot around those plots? Didn’t they fix some of that in the previous X-Men Movies?

I’m also not a big fan of Professor Xavier’s and Wolverine’s characters being written off. We already know that they’re only being temporarily written off so them being written off in that Movie seems forced to retire Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but is that necessary? Also, the way that Professor Xavier’s character is written off in the Movie is relatively anticlimactic. He was defeated by a relatively boring antagonist? The way that Wolverine’s character is written off in the Movie is significantly better done. It’s ironic that Wolverine’s character is written off defending other Mutants given how against helping other Mutants he is in the Movie but it makes sense. The antagonists in the Movie are mostly relatively boring, though.

There are a lot of great things about the Movie as well. Wolverine’s characterization and Hugh Jackman’s acting as Wolverine is amazing. The acting in the Movie is amazing overall and is one of the best parts about the Movie. X-23 is one of the best parts about the Movie as well. The action in the Movie is amazing but X-23’s is not only amazing but impressive. We already know what Wolverine can do in terms of Abilities but the acrobatic and martial arts skills that X-23 has is amazing. X-23 is also a great character having so much great characterization even in scenes where she doesn’t have much dialogue. The Mutants teaming up is also a creepy but bad ass scene.

Also, I can’t discuss The Wolverine 3 without mentioning the pre Movie scene, LMFAO. It’s messed up but since it’s a comedic scene it’s not meant to be taken seriously. I like the comment the character makes about Wolverine as well. An interesting pre Movie scene as well given that the Actors want to work together on the big screen as those characters.

The Wolverine 3 is a very good if not great Movie but it’s not my favorite X-Men and maybe not even my favorite The Wolverine Movie. I at least like the James MacAvoy and Michael Fassbender X-Men Movies more and maybe some of the other X-Men Movies as well. I like The Wolverine 3 more than The Wolverine 1 but I might like The Wolverine 2 better than both of them. They’re all around the same league.

    I give this Movie a 7.6/10 (rounding to 8/10).

Logan is still better then both Wolverine Movies For me

      • Law of Ueki - March 5, 2017 at 7:21 am #

Logan is the best xmen movie

    • Law of Ueki - March 5, 2017 at 7:17 am #

Logan is a reboot sequel. It’s directly a sequel to Xmen DOFP and Xmen Apocalypse.
But it’s a reboot from the previous Wolverine solo movies as the time was reset after DOFP, making wolverine 2 never happen.
Patrick Steward n Huge Jackman won’t be reprising their role anymore (they said they don’t want it anymore, because they’re too old and Hugh got skin cancer).
As Xavier, we get James Mcavoy (yong prof X). And wolverine I guess we’ll see X23 instead. The next Xmen movie is called “New Mutants”, set when Prof X still young (James McAvoy) n no wolverine in it.

      • Cp3.14 - March 6, 2017 at 9:00 pm #

“New Mutants” is gonna take place even before first class? This is definitely the most confusing timeline in cinematic history ( sorry Star Wars and Back to the Future)

        • Sanshiro Tamon - March 7, 2017 at 2:17 am #

          How did u read that?
New mutants is set after apocalypse.

    • Law of Ueki - March 5, 2017 at 2:23 pm #
IGN did a good job telling the timeline here.

    • Vinsmoke [ ] Sanji - March 6, 2017 at 10:23 am #

I heard X-24 was too much and that Sabretooth would have been better as the final villain.

      • Law of Ueki - March 6, 2017 at 1:04 pm #

nah, not really. That was just some theory from the “never satisfied” fans.
While I agree that X24 is anti climax, I don’t prefer Sabretooth as he’s always lose.

    • Cp3.14 - March 6, 2017 at 8:57 pm #

I haven’t seen the new one yet but i preferred the 1st and hated the 2nd Wolverine movie, of all the Xmen movies in fact is rank it second to last only with the sinfully terrible X-men 3 being worse. My favorite by far is Days of Future Past (that opening scene was so brutal), then Apocalypse and First Class not to far behind. Really looking forward to the Gambit movie, he was always my favorite, and quite frankly I’m getting quite pissed that we haven’t seen him yet.

      • Sanshiro Tamon - March 7, 2017 at 2:22 am #

Don’t expect much from gambit. From the actors to the script to the writer, it has been chaotic.

  5. Leptor - March 5, 2017 at 3:16 am #

    @ Logic.

I see what you mean about Killer vs. Priest Urouge but I doubt that either of them used all of their Abilities. I also don’t see Killer being more powerful than more than half of the Yonkou Commanders.

Yeah I thought about Vanessa’s Abilities being insanely powerful as well. They’re also relatively vague Abilities.

I gave the most recent chapter of One Piece a better score than the previous Nanatsu No Taizai chapter. :p

    Deadpool 2 teaser!

  7. Law of Ueki - March 5, 2017 at 7:22 am #

well crap.. Now even Nakaba is sick….
Drawing manga is a tough job it would seem.

  8. Law of Ueki - March 5, 2017 at 9:47 am #
Lmao. I know it’s a good maga, I have no idea how the manga characters would look like, but this trailer here is hilarious (in a bad way)

  9. Sane - March 5, 2017 at 12:18 pm #

Your boy Sane predicted Big Mom and Brook moment back in august:

  10. Sakanade - March 5, 2017 at 7:17 pm #

So the bomb will explode before Pudding shoots Sanji or vice versa.

    • LogicoftheVI - March 5, 2017 at 8:38 pm #

Hmm….this is an interesting question. Does the Tamatebako blow up inciting chaos? Or well there be some plan to disrupt things at the pivotal moment?

It’s possible Luffy and the others save Germa and escape, Capone is defeated, and Big Mom is cool because she still has her Poneglyphs and her Tamatebako box….boom!!!

      • Sakanade - March 5, 2017 at 9:09 pm #

Or maybe it happens simultaneous, the shot and the explotion.

    • Zack Ryan - March 6, 2017 at 6:07 am #

The plan later would be involving Big Mam to open the Tamatebako. So maybe Sanji has to pla dead.

  11. antarus - March 5, 2017 at 7:28 pm #

so capone is in charge of the security and SH have control over mirror world. also capone can be used as house to hide.

I imagine the plan is to shoot at the bm pirates before they start to shoot sanji and co.

  12. Bwahahaha - March 6, 2017 at 3:18 am #

I am surprised no one is still talking about TPN.

    • Sanshiro Tamon - March 6, 2017 at 4:25 am #

Not many ppl read it. I don’t.

      • Vinsmoke [ ] Sanji - March 6, 2017 at 10:23 am #

        You should start reading it

      • Logicofthevi - March 6, 2017 at 12:50 pm #

@Sanshiro Tamon, Law of Ueki, Death, whatever you are going by today. you need to read this manga!!!

  13. Leptor - March 6, 2017 at 5:13 am #

    @ Ueki.

If I remember correctly it has yet to be clarified what the Movie is a sequel to exactly and how The Wolverine Movies fit into those timelines. Were they part of the timeline before or after X-Men: Days Of Future Past? Those types of questions are unclear. Either way, though, Professor Xavier’s and Wolverine’s characters are likely to return to the Movie series at some point. So even if it’s with different Actors it might confuse the timeline.

Thanks for you IGN link though! Most of it makes sense in theory. :p

Good chapter for The Promised Neverland.

Some of Norman’s best characterization is in that chapter. For most of the series so far most of the characters have seemed relatively generic but you can’t not rightfully respect Norman’s heroic actions in that chapter. For him to lie to the other main protagonists and for the reason that he did is brave and shows why he’s one of the leaders of the team. The chapter also gives a template of the geography and it reminds me a lot of The Maze Runner. That gives the series the ability to add more characters from other sections. I wonder if other characters have figured out some of the secrets as well?

    I give this chapter a 6.6/10 (rounding to 7/10).

  15. Doflamingo - March 6, 2017 at 5:37 am #

Someone show this to Capone lol:

    • kram - March 7, 2017 at 12:57 am #

re-reading that whole chapter made me realize that jack only sunk at the sea but is not drowning. he can’t swim becoz of the devil fruit but he can breathe under water. he’s a fishman right?

  16. antarus - March 6, 2017 at 9:36 am #

  17. antarus - March 6, 2017 at 9:45 am #

so theories about nitro the jelly. that has capone’s face.

does capone use him to spy on pudding, or does capone work with pudding.

  18. Vinsmoke [ ] Sanji - March 6, 2017 at 10:25 am #

TPN is full of twists that I think Norman will be turned into one of them monsters and become the final villain for Ray and Emma.

    • Kouhei - March 6, 2017 at 12:22 pm #

This manga is incredible! I think Norman will use the pen left by Krone. As you said, plot twists are what this manga is all about. He is going to the monsters but I think something will happen and the grandma will have to send Norman back to the orphanage. And something about the pen will be the reason for this.

    • Logicofthevi - March 6, 2017 at 12:48 pm #

I am loving this series. Remember that in chapter 27 Norman had resigned himself to his fate and said he would ruin Isabella’s plans so that still needs to come to fruition. Also the Pen hasn’t been reveal and we know there was a package with it as well. Lastly Boys should have an alternate route just like the women do considering there are Scientist/Doctors who seems to be working with/for the Demons. I doubt this is the last we have seen of Norman.

  19. Law of Ueki - March 6, 2017 at 1:27 pm #

Lmao, so rachel is obsessed with Arlene. I wonder how she knew about her. This antagonist bitch will be around till the last chapter. FUCK.

  20. LogicoftheVI - March 6, 2017 at 1:48 pm #

    @Sanshiro Tamon

You have many names eh? Mind sharing some of them with me buddy?

  24. Kouhei - March 6, 2017 at 4:45 pm #

    DBS #81

Battle Royal. This will make thing interesting. I like how Gohan is getting more responsible for the success of the 7th universe team. But Roshi, Kuririn and Tien are weak as ffck. Even baby Pan is stronger than them.

  25. antarus - March 6, 2017 at 7:25 pm #

so what is this DB super all about these days? some longer tournament?

    • Kouhei - March 6, 2017 at 8:03 pm #

We have thought it’d be, but turns out it will be a battle royal, all fighters in the ring at the same time.
