ONEPIECE 889 Chapter Title: Unknown Mama

An angry Daifuku calls a genie and it attacks Carrot.
Carrot quickly dodges it.
On the contrary, fleets that get caught in the genie attack are half destroyed.
According to Jinbe, the Mink tribe get their wildness awaken by looking at full moon and become violent.
But if they can’t control it well, they’ll fight overnight and exhaust themselves.
Brooke hears it, runs on the sea by himself heading towards Daifuku’s fleets to help Carrott.
It’s been 8 hours since Big Mom’s outburst, something abnormal has happened to her body.
Big Mom gets thinner little by little.
Following Big Mom’s order, Napoleon calls back Prometheus and Zeus.
Sanji and Bege fight like cats and dogs on Bege’s ship.
Bege insists that since the cake is for Big Mom they should put poison and bombs in it.
Sanji doesn’t like his own cooking getting intervened so he let Bege taste the cream on the cake.
Being wrapped in happiness, Bege faints.
Daifuku’s fleets become unsteerable due to the battle between the genie and Carrot.
Fighting under Sulong form too long, .
Brooke asks her how to get back to her original form her response is covering her eyes.
Zeus and Prometheus joins Big Mom.
Prometheus stays on Big Mom’s hair.
Holding the sword Napoleon on one hand, hair-burning Big Mom jumps to Zeus and raids the Sunny.
Everybody is stunned.
“Be ready to discard the ship!” shouts Jinbe.

Good chapter for Boku No Hero Academia.

Most of the chapter has good entertainment but nothing exceptional for Boku No Hero Academia standards. There is some amazing humor in the chapter though especially with the Seiji and Inasa scenes.

    I give this chapter a 6/10.

    *repost*

Great chapter for The Promised Neverland.

The series continues to get better every chapter. The Lucas plot point is awesome for multiple reasons. It makes for some great emotional involvement in a good way and adds a new element to the mysterious character’s character arc. It’s also awesome having another adult character teaming up with the protagonists. Plus the chapter adds more to the Minerva plot point in a good way. A lot of intriguing dynamics created in the chapter.

I give this chapter an 8/10.

  3. Leptor - January 13, 2018 at 5:54 am #

Pretty good chapter for Black Clover.

A somewhat strange chapter but an intriguing character introduction with a lot of amazing humor. Captain Yami is an awesome character.

    I give this chapter a 6.7/10 (rounding to 7/10).

  4. Leptor - January 13, 2018 at 5:58 am #

    Pretty good chapter.

The dialogue in the Luffy vs. Lord Katakuri match up in the chapter isn’t exceptional but the action in that match up is pretty good. I also like that Oda is showing Luffy’s increased Haki skills. Chopper’s character is bad ass in the chapter. The Prometheus panel is awesome. The Stussy stuff is intriguing. I wonder what ideas CP0 is having?

    I give this chapter a 7.6/10 (rounding to 8/10).

Little pirate ships would be cute for Leo and the rest, though it would be impractical imo…

They’ll most likely use the bugs as transportation with jolly rogers drawn on them

But well, they could have a pirate ship pulled by bugs and in some cases carried in the air, for some reason now I think they could be the only ones with a ship that could travel on sea, land and air

    • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 2:04 pm #

I wish they were building a ship rather than building the town. That’s not something a pirate does Leo, get your shit together. They were more like pirates when they stole from the towns people.

    • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 2:30 pm #

I’m actually hoping they have a full sized ship. People should be like, there’s no one on the ship or maybe they’d be dubbed the ghost pirates by passersby, much to their chagrin lol

  6. Controlminds- no mi - January 13, 2018 at 7:45 am #

Maybe i missed something but how does katakuri knows luffy saw the future, rather then using regular CoO which also make the user feel people’s evil intent.?

    • Burnhotspot - January 13, 2018 at 10:36 am #

katakuri always changes his initial attack depending on the future.

Lets say he attacks with this, he knows enemy will dodge so he changed the attack position immediately giving enemy no time to dodge from his attack.

The first time he noticed is when he was about to attack with mochi gattling from the back.
Luffy was about to dodge it so he changed it to front immediately.

How he knows? Probably bcos luffy is starting to do exactly the same thing he always does. Iunderstand that it’s quite confusing

      • Mad19 - January 13, 2018 at 11:23 am #

        Pretty much this.

  7. Mad19 - January 13, 2018 at 11:27 am #

So Luffy fights an opponent with advanced CoO so that he levels up.

Do you guys think Zoro will fight an advanced CoA user in Wano or something?

    • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 1:37 pm #

I wouldn’t want him to, Luffy was challenged in an area he was weak in so I think Zoro should have a similar fight. I think he should fight an extremely fast opponent, though knowing oda he’ll probably do exactly what you said

    • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 2:02 pm #

I’m expecting all of Kaido’s top crew are CoA monsters, since they seem to be all about physical strength and durability.

But I don’t really expect Zoro to be fighting them. This is Wano, so Zoro will be fighting samurai. I even expect Zoro to get one of his swords broken, because it was basically foreshadowed with the flashback of Mihawk telling him it was shameful to even get a chip on the blade. Probably the Shogun, but I’d be rather disappointed if it’s a purely superior haki thing, as opposed to sword technique. I mean this is Wano so when it comes to Zoro I want it to be about swordplay more so than haki.

      • Persona - January 13, 2018 at 2:43 pm #

Mihawk must be one of the strongest coa user. The other should be garp n dragon.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 2:49 pm #

I don’t think we should rule out sentomaru either, he said he had the world’s strongest guard so he’s probably up there. Big Mom might also have really powerful armaments haki

        • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 3:34 pm #

          @Persona
I highly doubt Mihawk went all out against Zoro when training him though. I’m sure it was the same as Rayliegh with Luffy, in just teaching him the basics of haki. Like Luffy, Zoro will have to reach those higher levels on his own by fighting.

          @Bob
I think Sentomaru was just full of shit. I thought his whole comedy routine was saying his defense was the best and his lips where the tightest, but that wasn’t really true. He just spewed all the info and stuff, and he just seemed to be using basic haki shields like what Hancocks sisters used. Which Luffy broke through eventually.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 4:17 pm #

yeah it was part of the joke I think but the part about the guard I thought was serious, since he sent luffy flying without even touching him and rayleigh mentioned that if armaments haki was strong enough it could be used to reflect attacks as well

also worth mentioning that sentomaru took no damage during the war and luffy didn’t fight him after returning to sabaody, I think he’s stronger than he seems

        • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 4:25 pm #

Hopefully Sentomaru is with Vegapunk so we can see how strong he really is when the Strawhats inevitably visit Vegapunks island.

        • goldroger - January 13, 2018 at 7:25 pm #

yea yea b b but he cannot even bypass buggy’s df let alone jozu.so much for strongest coa user lol

  8. GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 1:55 pm #

I wonder if we’re actually going to get an explanation of why Katakuri can make his Mochi float and control it telepathically? Because I feel like that has nothing to do with Mochi.

Even outside of an actual floating DF like Shiki, this ability itself is not new to the series at all since Buggy has always been able to control his split limbs telepathically. Same for that marine who turned into balls. But that goes with their splitting ability, because they can freely control the split limbs. But it’s just random for Mochi, and just seems like a suspiciously convenient skill for Katakuri to just have for no reason.

    • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 2:19 pm #

      awakening

      • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 2:41 pm #

That’s what I thought, but I don’t remember Doffy ever doing that with his awakening. He had to maintain contact with the affected area of the changed city via dipping his hands into the ground or just keeping his feet on the ground of the area. Katakuri did that initially, but now he just has something invisible around his hands and the mochi floats and moves without any contact.

        • Persona - January 13, 2018 at 2:44 pm #

Oda never said any rule about all Awakening should be the same tho.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 2:48 pm #

didn’t doflamingo basically float in the air while maintaining awakening when he was avoiding gear fourth

        • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 3:27 pm #

Doflamingo always uses his strings to move in the air, that’s not awakening though, because he doesn’t turn the sky into strings, he just attaches strings to stuff like a spider.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 3:32 pm #

no I was talking about his awakening when he was floating in midair, what I meant is I don’t think he was touching the ground as you said he was controlling the buildings that had turned into strings

        • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 3:38 pm #

What chapter are you talking about? The end of the fight? That’s the only part I recall him going up, when he was going after Luffy for the final clash. But you can clearly see him using the strings to move, Oda even does a close up and shows his hands with the sound effect that he uses when using his sky strings.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 4:19 pm #

maybe it was only in the anime that I’m thinking of, not sure if it was filler but there’s a part in the anime where doflamingo is trying avoid gear fourth and he’s floating in the air while using his awakening strings to keep luffy away from him

        • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 4:30 pm #

That must have been some anime filler. I mean we saw Doflamingo appear to float all throughout the Dressrosa arc, but he’s always just standing on strings. Law explained this when he told Nami to blow away the clouds so Doflamingo couldn’t attach strings to them to follow the Sunny.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 5:23 pm #

I don’t think he was standing on strings I think he was attaching the strings to clouds

        • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 5:53 pm #

Yeah, standing on strings he attached to clouds. I guess we don’t for sure, he could also have attached them to his shoulders or something, but same result.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 6:21 pm #

he attaches them to his fingers, that’s why he does that flying motion when he leaps through the sky. that’s where the strings are coming from

        • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 7:26 pm #

In motion, yes, but I mean when he just stands there, such as when he stood over the Ocean or stood next to Fujitora after capturing Law, or even when Luffy initially transformed, Doffy is standing in the air. I don’t think he’s hanging by his fingers.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 7:36 pm #

o I don’t see how he would really stand on strings that were connected to a cloud but either way what I was getting at was not the way he floats but the fact that he was floating while controlling the buildings that had turned into strings which means that his hands couldn’t have been touching the ground

        • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 7:57 pm #

Well it never really made sense to begin with that he could connect strings to clouds, lol. But I see your point now, although he still could be connected by a string to the ground, he does appear to be just standing there in the sky without a connection to the awakened string city.

…That glow or aura around Katakuri’s hands still makes it seem different though. Unless Oda just didn’t think to draw that back when Doffy did it.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 10:55 pm #

I don’t remember the glow but maybe it was supposed to be showing that Luffy was reading his attacks or something

        • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 12:05 am #

It’s in this chapter too, look at Katakuri’s hands when he uses any attack that pops out of the Peerless Donuts.

    • Triple-X Drake - January 13, 2018 at 5:12 pm #

Doffy basically did the same thing with his string clones and bird cage. He could control the bird cage without touching it but acting as its epicenter

      • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 5:55 pm #

Possibly, but I don’t think we actually know that he didn’t maintain a string connection with those things.

    • Sakanade - January 13, 2018 at 6:22 pm #

      Good question.

Remember the moment when Doffys puppets appeared in the tunnel with Luffy and Trafa in Dressrosa?

We all believed Doffy was using strings to control his puppet, but that wouldve been an amazing feat since he was so faaaar away, how could he control a puppet he didnt see, plus the distance too?

This could be awaking. I dont think its only turning surroundings into elements but also controlling elements from a distance.

      • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 7:29 pm #

The distance or seeing them is a non issue for Doflamingo’s string’s though. We know this because he was capable of spreading his strings throughout Dressrosa and using Parasite to control all those people at once.

        • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 7:34 pm #

that’s another reason that they probably weren’t connected

  9. Pinkuashi Sanji - January 13, 2018 at 6:21 pm #

Is doflamingo inspired by venom or carnage from spiderman?

    • antarus - January 13, 2018 at 7:24 pm #

      more like joker meets Spiderman

  10. antarus - January 13, 2018 at 10:35 pm #

if reading the future like katakur is the way luffy beats katakuri ,then he must have a new gear based on coo.

    g4 is muscles boundman

    tankman is fat

what could be coo based. slim(shady)man, speed based?

    • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 10:58 pm #

he already has a speed-based gear so probably not

    • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 12:02 am #

Advanced CoO is not something that will be attached to a Gear, it’s just going to increase his basic combat skills, so it will be used with any and all forms.

      • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 2:38 pm #

Agreed. In fact, he could just use it with regular gear fourth since some of his attacks can change direction.

Also, I’ve never understood why people say boundman is a new form. I think it’s just another circumstantial thing since he has to eat a whole lot of food first. I feel like it’s more like nightmare Luffy or the wax fist (can’t remember the name) as a 1 time thing.

  11. antarus - January 13, 2018 at 10:36 pm #

re people trashing sanji cause he is special at coo unlike zoro at coa.
well, take a look now what coo can do!

    • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 12:00 am #

Well, I’m not bashing Sanji, but seeing as Sanji does not have the ability to do what Katakuri is doing, it doesn’t really matter if he specializes in CoO.

      • antarus - January 14, 2018 at 3:32 pm #

thats is bevause sanji had no extreme battles like luffy to train his haki more.

but its not over, he will get it better over time and do whatever katakuri does and more

  12. Ace /Sabo /Luffy - January 13, 2018 at 11:10 pm #

So for how long has Luffy vs Katakuri being going on for

    • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 11:59 pm #

      About 8 hours I think.

  13. Ace /Sabo /Luffy - January 13, 2018 at 11:21 pm #

    How old is pudding? opinions

    • Bob - January 13, 2018 at 11:26 pm #

      14 I guess

    • GomoGomoNo - January 13, 2018 at 11:53 pm #

Unless Flampe is a twin, then there is at least 1 more daughter between her and Pudding. And that’s assuming no boys were born between them as well. 13-14 at the most…

      • Persona - January 14, 2018 at 1:04 am #

Or pudding and flampe n other sisters r quadrupled but each with different father. It’s possible u know. Hahahah

        • Bob - January 14, 2018 at 1:13 am #

I don’t think that is possible but even if it was, 15 isn’t much better

still hoping that it was a mistake on oda’s part but I’m thinking it wasn’t

    • jammin' - January 14, 2018 at 3:46 am #

Either her age or birth order is incorrect or she is 15

      • Bob - January 14, 2018 at 4:08 am #

if anything is incorrect I guess it would be her birth order or the other girl’s, the other girl actually looks 15 so her age is probably correct

pudding looks more like 19 but oda might have done that on purpose, maybe he’ll end up making it some comic relief moment

        • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 2:41 pm #

Lol sanji finds out she’s underage and puts his hands up like nope and just skywalks right out of there

        • Bob - January 15, 2018 at 4:19 pm #

          lol

thankfully it was confirmed to be a mistake

    • ~7OPofD.w0rld - January 14, 2018 at 10:58 am #

This wouldn’t be Odas first mistake, though even if there’s a lot of kids it would be logical to make a list from the oldest to the youngest, he shouldn’t give them numbers randomly imo, I mean even the editors should notice these mistakes

      • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 1:55 pm #

I think Oda probably has done that list now, ever since he mixed up Praline with who was originally introduced as the 29th daughter. However, Joscarpone was then made the 29th in SBS Volume 86, and so Praline’s position was changed to be the 21st in the next Volume.

In that same Volume 87, Oda also said… “There are 34 islands with 34 Ministers in Totto Land. It’s all handled by Big Mom’s children although that’s what I have decided, but I’m not sure whether to show all information or not. There are just too many profound/background settings. ”

…Saying “show” instead of “create” implies he has in fact already made the list in order to avoid making the same mistake.

    • antarus - January 14, 2018 at 3:51 pm #

i guess this could be made intentional to give sanji a reason to not stay behind with pudding. or else he could want to quit the crew again.

and it also fits as a joke

  14. Persona - January 14, 2018 at 2:54 pm #

Nnt 2nd season anime finally started. That and there r also many other great animes.
    Overlord 2nd season.
    Garo continuing its episode.
    Killing Bites!
Some anime also has pacing problem tho (too fast.. I can’t believe I’m complaining about this lol) like hakyu and grancrest.

    • Persona - January 14, 2018 at 2:55 pm #

And dragon Ball super is surprisingly awesome. Jiren vs Vegeta n Goku is awesome.

      • ~7OPofD.w0rld - January 14, 2018 at 4:28 pm #

Are the latest episodes really interesting? I gave the first episode a try a few days ago and it was painful to watch..it made me feel f#kin old, I know it was just the first episode, but still…

        • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 7:02 pm #

Watching Dragonball Super after reading the actual Dragonball manga(or even just watching the original Dragonball & Z anime series), is kind of like watching today’s comic book movies after growing up reading actual comics.

…what I mean by that is they do ALOT of things that make no sense, powerlevels are all over the place, and there is enough fluff and pointless crap to fill a football stadium. But thanks to high production value, everything usually looks good and the fights can be cool at times.

        • Persona - January 15, 2018 at 8:43 am #

Yup. U should not care about power level in dragon Ball because Goku’s balls is unlimited while Vegeta always managed to chase it, making his balls also unlimited.
I only watch it for the thrill of watching good animated battle between dudes whose sole goal is to gather more balls.

  15. Agengo - January 14, 2018 at 5:01 pm #

I’m I the only one who thinks Hirudyn was displayed too weak with luffys one punch ko. Not even using his df .I mean, he was trained by elbalfs legends. That shows they weak. Even if he’s not the strongest guy, he should be at least half as strong as the strongest

    • ~7OPofD.w0rld - January 14, 2018 at 5:42 pm #

I think that was just to show Luffys growth compared to normal giants like Dorry and Brogy…since 2 yars ago he had to use G3 against a normal giant in marineford

But anyways the power level in OP isn’t absolute like this same guy sending Vise flying even after he gained so much weight, Ideo who was supposed to be close in power with Sai losing to Delinger who lost in an instant to Hakuba…well..you can’t decide whether someone’s weak or not based on a punch..

    • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 6:48 pm #

What do you mean no DF? Luffy clearly used a Gear 2 punch to hit him. It’s no different than Sai, who Luffy also casually kicked out with 1 Jet Kick. Just because Luffy is on a completely different level than them doesn’t make them weak. And obviously we later see both of them win tough fights against people who are actually on their level.

I think people forgot Luffy is one of the strongest people in the One Piece world. He’s about to beat a Yonko First mate and then an actual Yonko soon enough. So Luffy 1-shotting his grand fleet captains is no different than how any Yonko could likewise casually 1-shot any of their own allied captains. That doesn’t make them weak compared to normal pirates.

      • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 2:45 pm #

        Well said

    • Bob - January 14, 2018 at 7:42 pm #

I don’t understand why hajrudin is so weak when he’s been training for like 70 years since he was a kid

him getting one-shotted by gear second luffy is just bizarre to me

      • antarus - January 14, 2018 at 9:22 pm #

the irony with giants in the story is that they are weak fall easy to normal sized humans.
their size is suppoused to compensate everything….

        • antarus - January 14, 2018 at 9:23 pm #

there are enough old marines that trained all time like vice admi, and yet they will likely get defeated by luffy without many problems

        • Bob - January 14, 2018 at 10:28 pm #

old vice admirals might not be in their prime anymore, hajrudin still is since he’s a giant and he’s been training his entire life

        • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 2:48 pm #

Well that’s not necessarily true. Hajrudin has been a mercenary for some time. A giant who lived they’re entire life on elbaf is far more likely to train day and night. Not to mention is more like to have haki which hajrudin hasn’t demonstrated at all so far.

        • Bob - January 15, 2018 at 4:35 pm #

he was shown training as a kid, I don’t have any reason to believe he’s stopped since then

        • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 9:19 pm #

You don’t have any reason or evidence to suggest he continued either. Work gets in the way of a lot of things. Im sure you can understand as well as anyine else since you must have school, a job, or something that you need to do that takes time away from a few things you want to do. Besides, if he had continued training, whether alone or with a mentor, he should have at least demonstrated even the slightest bit of haki. Luffy uses haki which as you know tremendously increases offense and defense.

Im going to repost on the next page since it’s getting kind of crowded over here.

      • Triple-X Drake - January 14, 2018 at 9:32 pm #

Well Hajrudin is still relatively young going by Giant standards. Gear 2 is very powerful, it defeated both Blueno, Rob Lucci and a Pacifista. It’s like @GomoGomoNo said, Hajrudin & Luffy are at completely different levels.

        • Bob - January 14, 2018 at 10:30 pm #

yes but I don’t know why they’re at completely different levels, he’s been training for 60-70 years and he’s still in his prime

        • Persona - January 15, 2018 at 12:06 am #

          Different kind of training.
          Different talent.
          Different hardship.
          N ofc, main character’s advantages.

        • Bob - January 15, 2018 at 12:36 am #

I think the last line plays the biggest role here

        • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 2:50 pm #

No haki also. We’ve seen what haki can do. It’s like supersaiyan but requires more focus.

    • Oda on Hiatus - January 15, 2018 at 8:07 am #

It’s just like comparing a DF Punch from Whitebeard to anyone of his commanders without using haki. They will be in a coma for sure. And the head is a pretty good point to land a punch on a big guy giving his size and the size of the arena.

Hajrudin should be compared to the rest of the participants in the arena who are on almost the same level as him. Luffy was the monster among them.

  16. antarus - January 14, 2018 at 9:24 pm #

where will cp0 plot lead? stussy knows what shs did to bm. how will wg react? bigger bounties?

    • Oda on Hiatus - January 15, 2018 at 8:14 am #

If they stay out of all this chaos, then Luffy together with Germa will make headlines in the paper.

My prediction is that Sh&Germa&Bege will leave the islands&BM crew in a mess and CP0 will take advantage to subdue/take prisoners/whatever and the WG will say that they sealed the deal with Big Mom… but at the same time Morgans escapes and spreads the news of what really happend that will get to Elbag, Shanks, BB and many others that had connections to WCI&the characters involved. Also the WG will start to make preparations to meddle in the wars to come in the NW ( knowing Luffy will take on Kaidou next probably) and try to establish their sphere of influence. The Yonkou getting defeated is their chance to turn the power balance in their favor.

  17. antarus - January 14, 2018 at 9:25 pm #

    with stussy and morgans here.

for sure they will know pk sanji kod bm wit hhis cake.

how will wg react to the guy that kod a yonkou yet he is not even worst generation?

    will sanji’s bount y explode?

    • antarus - January 14, 2018 at 9:26 pm #

they also know now he is germa prince

      • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 10:24 pm #

I would trip if Sanji got a bounty raise for baking a cake. There’s still time for him to fight.

      • Oda on Hiatus - January 15, 2018 at 8:01 am #

True, even Chopper is more dangerous then him at this point in WG terms.

    • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 3:01 pm #

His status along with the cake will boost his bounty similar to ussop whose bounty increased because of the “status” Doffy gave him and that one shot he made.

  18. antarus - January 14, 2018 at 9:28 pm #

giants are only relevant when compared to normal humans.

    asin fodder.

fodders are the ones that make the numbers in the world, not guys like luffy that is only one and maybe 30 Others strong guy i nthe world.

10 milion giants vs 10 milion normal fodders, thats why giants strongest nation.

they are notp strongest nation because they are stronger then the yonkous admirals supernovas and few other lol

    • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 10:22 pm #

Pretty much, although I do expect that they’ll probably have a few decent giants in their upper ranks. Maybe Loki or the King, or some body guard that protects them.

  19. antarus - January 14, 2018 at 9:30 pm #

    11 hours fight with cracker

    8 with katakuri

oda is pushing luffy to long fights to increase with stamina.

we know of the legendary 10 days fights between top guys.

could luffy possibly have a future fight that long?

    • GomoGomoNo - January 14, 2018 at 10:19 pm #

Yeah, that seems to be the standard Oda is establishing for top Yonko Commanders: Ace vs Jinbe, Jack vs Inu/Neko, Luffy vs Cracker, Luffy va Katakuri. It will definitely be more for the Yonko themselves.

So then the war on Wano will probably last multiple days. I’m curious to how Oda will handle it in a straight war setting unlike this WCI set up where alot of stuff is happening. Maybe each day the weaker fighters are eliminated until only the strongest remain for the final day. Perhaps the alliance will tag team, with the Pirates & Samurai fighting in the day, while the Minks & Ninja fight at night.

      • goldroger - January 15, 2018 at 1:16 pm #

i think luffy wont have a fight like inu/neko vs jack or ace vs jinbe (fight that last days) because he has most useful ability in op verse call “plot convenience”.

      • Oda on Hiatus - January 15, 2018 at 4:08 pm #

Why not, the final battle Luffy Vs BB pirates vs WG(possible) will most likely last a couple of days. It will be the final and greatest battle in One Piece. Oda will surely make it epic as fuck.

  20. antarus - January 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm #

sanji will have the biggest floating restaurant in the NW, germa castle.

    • kingkaidou - January 15, 2018 at 2:08 pm #

Restaurant-chain, sanji just needs the red nose so he can be Ronald Mc Donald

  21. jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 2:53 pm #

I have questions. How many think carrot will get a bounty and if so how much?

    • Kouhei - January 15, 2018 at 4:28 pm #

It’d funny to see her as a pet too. $50

      • Bob - January 15, 2018 at 6:26 pm #

16 or older, most likely older

      • jammin' - January 15, 2018 at 9:12 pm #

According to japans law, yes. It’s also crazy how developed she was if she was really 14 or less.

  23. antarus - January 15, 2018 at 4:21 pm #

    much training does’t equal strong.

look at germa, even fodders train all day, and vinsmokes even have super genes and super suits yet they pale in comparison to natural born strong sasnd will like bm pirates.

    • antarus - January 15, 2018 at 4:23 pm #

i’m pretty sure Kid is the younger Brother of shanks. both 1 arm. both red hair, and kid targeting shanks to show he surpassed him.

      • Bob - January 15, 2018 at 4:37 pm #

the 1 arm thing isn’t really genetic, they both just lost one arm

        • antarus - January 15, 2018 at 5:14 pm #

yeah but i think is just another hint to show they are connected from oda

  24. antarus - January 15, 2018 at 4:25 pm #

    shanks arc:

    bb pirates

    SHs
    buggy

    kid

    mihawk.

will be one great arc…except the ending

      About 2020

      • Jay - January 16, 2018 at 5:09 pm #

There’s no way wano will end in 2020

  25. Bob - January 15, 2018 at 4:37 pm #

is it just me or are katakuri’s attacks doing less damage to luffy than sanji’s did

    • antarus - January 15, 2018 at 5:13 pm #

from almost KO.ing gear 4 boundman to … base luffy ,that is much weaker and slower, tanking and dodging his Attacks and also attacking his and stoping his Attacks

      • antarus - January 15, 2018 at 5:16 pm #

something sure is wrong is mochi paradise if he is struggling for 8 hours with BASE LUFFY

        • Bob - January 15, 2018 at 5:22 pm #

yeh I guess his haki is really running out, I forgot luffy wasn’t even trying to defend at all when sanji fought him

    • Goldroger - January 15, 2018 at 5:31 pm #

That’s bcause luffy was not even try to fightback not even bother to dodging.for same comparison, garp get koed by luffy with one punch.

    • GomoGomoNo - January 15, 2018 at 10:08 pm #

Oda made it a point to note that Luffy was weakened from fighting Cracker all night…

      http://mangaseeonline.us/read-online/One-Piece-chapter-844-page-8.html

…Plus Luffy is not defending against Sanji at all, but against Katakuri he is not only defending but he’s using haki. It’s Like Zoro easily knocked Sanji out by hitting him in the side when they were in front of Kuma. That doesn’t mean the handle of Zoro’s sword is stronger than all the attacks Sanji has taken in fights and not gotten KO’d. It just means Sanji was damaged enough at that point that a well place shot KO’d him. Luffy was simply weakened enough that Sanji’s attacks were enough to KO him for a moment. Same thing with those 2 fodder in the enraged army who KO’d Luffy.
